maryann muses: sherlock holmes mini-review
http://mareynolds.blogspot.com/2010/01/2010-tarot-reading.html
Sunday, January 3, 2010. Labels: movies and videos. Saw Sherlock Holmes with friends last night. i didn't like the story or the sets that much, but loved the 2 main characters- they played well together and were believable. downey played a nontraditional sherlock who seemed bipolar. i liked how the film showed his swift visual calculations and carry-through, the genius of holmes at his best. http://mareynolds.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 20, 2009. Gardening, not blogging. I have built 4 boxes for square foot gardens and filled 3 with soil and planted them. i've got a 4th box made, ready to be filled with soil and planted. it will have the really hot weather stuff- okra, corn, moon and stars watermelon, yellow squash, and a melon called charentais that i saw in the nichols catalog that looks similar to canteloupe and is supposedly delicious. The recent rains haven't hurt either. This garden is giving me such pleasure! The na...

maryann muses: March 2009
http://mareynolds.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 18, 2009. Poem: To Begin With, the Sweet Grass, by Mary Oliver. So beautiful, so wise. To Begin With, the Sweet Grass. Will the hungry ox stand in the field and not eat. Of the sweet grass? Will the owl bite off its own wings? Will the lark forget to lift its body in the air or. Will the rivers run upstream? Behold, I say - behold. The reliability and the finery and the teachings. Of this gritty earth gift. Eat bread and understand comfort. Drink water, and understand delight. I have bec...

maryann muses: 2009 review--health
http://mareynolds.blogspot.com/2010/01/2009-review-health.html
Friday, January 1, 2010. Was thinking last night about what was significant in my life in 2009. health was big. In february, i went to a NUCCA chiropractor and got my atlas adjusted. after a year or two of lots of yoga, and working with my acupuncturist/rolfer/yoga/diet coach and my cranio-sacral therapist and traditional chiropractors, i was still waking up sometimes with back pain. NUCCA sounded like a good bet. even if they didn't find any misalignment, at least i could rule it out. The best after-NUC...

Monday, January 4, 2010. Poem: New Year's Resolution, by Philip Appleman. This is now my favorite new year's poem! Well, I did it again, bringing in. That infant Purity across the land,. Welcoming Innocence with gin. In New York, waiting up. To help Chicago,. Denver, L.A., Fairbanks, Hon-. The high school bands are alienating Dallas,. And girls in gold and tangerine. Have lost all touch with Pasadena,. And young men with muscles and missing teeth. Are dreaming of personal fouls,. Those other Januaries in.
