Dancing In The Mud: Why and how we home educate
http://dancinginthemud.blogspot.com/p/why-we-home-educate.html
Dancing In The Mud. A home educating life. Why and how we home educate. Why and how we home educate. I thought it might be useful to include some details of why and how we home educate our children and writing this page has helped me to order my thoughts too. I am sure that the answers to these questions will continue to be a work in progress as the children grow up and their needs change, so we will keep looking at our focus and making changes where needed. We can be flexible - we can see the areas in w...
Dancing In The Mud: August 2014
http://dancinginthemud.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Dancing In The Mud. A home educating life. Why and how we home educate. Sunday, 31 August 2014. Camping and stargazing weekend. We spent the last two nights in a lovely wooden wigwam at Herding Hill Farm in Northumberland. We have had a very busy and fun August and will be getting back into our normal routine from Monday. This was pretty luxurious and easy compared to tent camping - the wigwam had lights plus a kettle, toaster and microwave! The inside had a seating area that turned into the beds at night.

Dancing In The Mud. A home educating life. Why and how we home educate. Friday, 28 November 2014. Not sure how that crept up on me but we like December and we will enjoy it. We do a lot of relaxed Christmas themed activities during Advent and I will try to get them on here. We have had more cuddles with baby cousin Jacob. Harry made a Lego snow globe following the instructions in a Lego magazine. We have finished decorating our hall, hurray! He has also been a reading machine! He can now read a Beast Que...

Dancing In The Mud. A home educating life. Why and how we home educate. Friday, 24 October 2014. Art, party, parks and decorating. Harry finished his latest picture at art class last week - a rhino. This is my favourite so far; I like the green shading. We joined some friends for a Halloween party - the boys loved filling the pumpkin piñata with a huge amount of sweets, although they only had a handful each! We haven't painted yet but will be doing it soon, along with carpet shopping! Thursday, 23 Octobe...

Our life in the north. Wednesday, 21 August 2013. How to Learn Math. I have been raving enthusiastically about this. Course currently being offered by stanfordonline and it was suggested today that I blog my experiences. Duh! It has been so long since I blogged that I had forgotten all about it! Why will you wait? I passed no comments at all about their answers but simply wrote them on the board and said "Well I think we are going to have to work this out because I don't think all of the answers could be...

Dancing In The Mud. A home educating life. Why and how we home educate. Monday, 16 February 2015. We had fun with some science activities last week and were joined by some friends. I used the Dyson challenge cards, which were free from the learning section of the Dyson website, and we explored expanding gases and viscosity.
