Dan Collard's Theatre Blog. Review – All’s Well That Ends Well @ Olivier. Marianne Elliott’s fairy-tale-themed production of Shakepeare’s ‘ All’s Well That Ends Well. Is a perfect example of modernising Shakespeare for the 21. Century audience, in an attempt to cope with ever-changing tastes and ever-decreasing attention spans. Dan Collard's Theatre Blog. Review – Avenue Q @ Gielgud. Having never seen the hit musical Avenue Q. My expectation as I took my seat in the Gielgud Theatre. The show’s new home since June of this year) was to see some Muppets up on stage singing some rather rude songs about taboo subject material. Quite simply, that is exactly what I got. The puppets were an instant nostalgic delight, bringing to life their Sesame Street. Most of these songs sought to poke fun at every taboo imaginable, from racism.

Dan Collard's Theatre Blog. With Am-Dram, who needs the West End? The other night I went to watch a university production of Alan Bennett’s The History Boys. Here at Royal Holloway. And I can say the experience was more than just pleasant: it was positively uplifting. This was in no small part down to the fact that I knew it couldn’t hope to live up to the production I had seen at the National. Members of the audience were invited up on stage to do their best fake orgasm impression). Feed for this Entry.

A-list cast: a draw or a distraction? You are about to see the person you fantasise about, or really and truly admire. Someone who you never in your wildest dreams thought you’d ever be l...
