This afternoon we had a pre-birthday bash for Sue at Ozsut. Some naughty cakes, some lovely coffee and some great company were the order of the day. Today a team from the Belediye and a gentleman from The Agriculture Ministry turned up to remove it, as it was infested by the red palm weevil. We have returned from our trip to Istanbul, where we spent an interesting 5 days. We flew up from our "local" airport, Izmir, which is 2 hours from us. David's Turkish lessons began on the 10th of this month. They occur twice a week, on Monday and Wednesday evenings for 2 hours each evening. They will hopefully give a basic grounding in the language, enough to build upon with any luck! As this month draws to a close, the temperature has finally dropped . is this the long awaited winter?
