http://bayoustjohndavid.blogspot.com/2011/11/theme-song-of-professional-center-left.html
Cité pleine de rêves,/Où le spectre en plein jour raccroche le passant. Thursday, November 03, 2011. Theme Song of the Professional Center-Left. I guess some thoughts are obvious. But hearing people who can't even admit that they were duped when they joined the Obama Fan Club express scorn, or even just skepticism, toward people who at least understand that much*. Certainly not a description of everybody involved in OWS, but a partial description of a sizable percentage. Comments: Post a Comment.

MOLDY CITY: Nothing that a rich conservative says is too much for Joe Kernan
http://bayoustjohndavid.blogspot.com/2011/04/example-of-why-ive-lost-interest-in.html
Cité pleine de rêves,/Où le spectre en plein jour raccroche le passant. Friday, April 08, 2011. Nothing that a rich conservative says is too much for Joe Kernan. The really venomous stuff. Starts about seven minutes in. Notice how strongly Kernan agrees with Faber when it gets to be a little too much for Becky Quick. If I understood Faber correctly, the hard-working rich are punishing the lazy, illiterate poor by exporting the jobs that they're too lazy to do. Posted by bayoustjohndavid @ 9:01 PM.

http://dapoblog.blogspot.com/2007/06/is-for-audrey.html
Po', like a po-boy. Wednesday, June 27, 2007. A is for Audrey. The 1957 Atlantic hurricane season. Didn't have to wait until the letter "K" to be a disaster. They had weathered hurricanes prior to '57, and what they did not understand was the surge. You see the surge is what killed the 500 plus or whatever people.". It just takes one hurricane. And it could be the first one. By da po' boy. Like aging, sleep is behavior forced upon us. Incidentally, the gods create male superiority in the fields of comput...

http://floodandloathing.blogspot.com/2007/03/that-voodoo-that-you-do.html
Hard Times in the Big Easy. Monday, March 05, 2007. That Voodoo That You Do. Okay, listen, I’m sorry! I’m really, really sorry. I don’t know what it was that I did to you, but whatever it was, I take it back. I’ll make up for it however I can. If you’re the person who put a curse on me, whoever you are, I’ll make it right. Just take the curse off, please. I buy a house, renovate it, and it floods a month later before I can even move in, destroying all my books and most other possessions with it. Neverthe...

Of the latest issue of the New Orleans Review. Links to this post. A year ago today I got home. We had to kick in the doors because they were all swollen shut and, after five weeks of trying to figure out just how bad the flooding was from blurry satellite photos – “Is that a hole in the roof, or just missing shingles? The NO....

Flood & Loathing: September 2006
http://floodandloathing.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html
Hard Times in the Big Easy. Wednesday, September 13, 2006. Anniversary Wine and Air-Conditioning. In the meantime, I spent all my time on the phone talking to FEMA, Loyola, two different mortgage companies, two different insurance companies, and various credit cards and banks, all in an effort to get my little life in order. When not doing that, I sat on the phone with whiskey in hand, tracking down friends. To Katrina, floods, and governmental incompetence. Two bottles down, one to go. Links to this post.

Flood & Loathing: Stepping Over Lamp Posts
http://floodandloathing.blogspot.com/2007/01/stepping-over-lamp-posts.html
Hard Times in the Big Easy. Wednesday, January 03, 2007. Stepping Over Lamp Posts. Now, while I had no reason to doubt Gav, my fears were deepened when the inspector showed up because he said the exact same thing. Yep, the city inspector said Entergy would lie to me and I would have to spend days on the phone with them, trying to make them find the permit he had faxed over days ago. Needless to say, this didn't bode well. I have a permit! I cried. "Right here in my hand.". I AM MOVING INTO MY HOUSE!
