Daniaby - engang hjemsted for 3 store cementvirksomheder, Cimbria 1873 - Dania 1886 og Kongsdal 1908. Dania var uden sammenligning fjordområdets betydeligste industri. I 1910 var 1.100 - 1.200 mand beskæftiget. Området var indhyldet i gråt støv. På Dania findes Nordens bedste kridtforekomster som Kong Christian den IV fik cement til sine flotte bygningsværker. Cementproduktionen fortsatte til 1975 ejet af Aalborg Portland.
