I fully intended to get in a run on this sunny day. But the 21-degree temp when I woke up crushed any ideas I might have had for a morning run, and simply lost interest later in the day, cancelling out any shot at an afternoon jog. Maybe tomorrow. Busting the 8:30 barrier. Knowing my time was 27:29, I jumped on DailyMile and routed my course, and BOOM! 329 miles in 8:21 per mile! That’s a 5k in a little under 26 minutes. Will I be happy with that on April 29th? I have over a month to bring that time down, so my new goal is to finish my first race in less than 25 minutes. This entry was posted in Running Misc. Looks like I need to take the day off. I’ve got a knot in my right calf that I haven’t been able to stretch away. Doesn’t feel like the same problem previously experienced in that calf, but I’m afraid if I try to push a run, I’ll injure it for sure. Excited about my first race. I registered for the Ravenswood 5k on April 29th. Seems like it’s a long way off, but that certainly gives me plenty of time to get into race shape. Once I figure out what race shape means😉.
