Lives We Might Live: juillet 2005
http://liveswemightlive.blogspot.com/2005_07_01_archive.html
Lives We Might Live. Juillet 16, 2005. Langston Hughes’s The Big Sea and Edith Wharton’s The New Frenchwoman. At the beginning of the 20th century many American artists left the United States and traveled to Paris in search of more artistic, intellectual, and personal freedom. There were those who were in revolt against the puritan conscience and the denial of artistic freedom in America; the lack of public respect for creative art and artists, said Claude McKay (photo) in. A Long Way From Home. That's s...

haggis house: the baby tour
http://haggishouse.blogspot.com/2007/08/baby-tour.html
We don't make it, cook it, or eat it. it's just the name of the cul de sac. Friday, August 17, 2007. This video leaves out our stay with Tia Dani and Tio Bryce, whom we mooched off of for days and days. No scenes from the pool and sprinkler park, from the museum and endless playgrounds, from our rides underground; nonetheless, our gratitude is infinite. The video reflects a definite trend. We have been breeding at full speed, folks. And we have made a posse of adorable children. Nice work.

Lives We Might Live: juin 2006
http://liveswemightlive.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html
Lives We Might Live. Juin 22, 2006. The Depth of Rebel Style. I wrote this in response to an article a friend posted on his blog. The article is by Colin Kennedy Donovan and Qwo-Li Driskill and it is pasted below with a link to their site. The Depth of Rebel Style by Araby Carlier. Colin Kennedy Donovan and Qwo-Li Driskill’s article is wrong because it assumes culture exists in a narrow vacuum and it advocates a stifling and policing of cultural exchanges when we should be fighting larger battles. Check ...

Lives We Might Live: Jesus Land
http://liveswemightlive.blogspot.com/2005/11/jesus-land.html
Lives We Might Live. Novembre 21, 2005. I just read Jesus Land by Julia Scheeres. I'm not going to "reveal the story" but in a nutshell Jesus land is a memoir of a young woman raised by Calvinist fundamentalists in rural Indiana. The memoir is set around Julia and her adopted brother David who is the same age (they idolize Bobby and Cindy Brady) during their last couple years of high school. Posted by Araby Carlier @ 7:10 PM. I read over your blog, and i found it inquisitive, you may find My Blog. Drive ...

Lives We Might Live. Septembre 21, 2005. No Place For a Poet At A Banquet of Shame by Sharon Olds. Dear Mrs. Bush,. I am writing to let you know why I am not able to accept your kind invitation to give a presentation at the National Book Festival on September 24, or to attend your dinner at the Library of Congress or the breakfast at the White House. In one way, it's a very appealing invitation. The idea of speaking at a festival attended by 85,000 people is inspiring! What kept coming to the fore of my ...

Lives We Might Live. Décembre 08, 2004. Word Gymnastics Do Not Equal Funny. Funny is my number one favorite thing, with silly coming in a close second. How do I differentiate? Aaron McGruder is funny, burps are silly both are amazing and loved. The Onion is funny; a dog sliding across the floor on his nails is silly. Jokes are funny, farts are silly are you with me? Brain thought = funny, spontaneity immaturity = silly. While the lack of funny might disappoint some readers, I am frantically insecure that...

Lives We Might Live. Août 28, 2006. Played 4 nights of sold-out shows at BB Kings on 42nd Street in New York City. Here is a review of Saturday night's show. Before Rancid came on the crowd was jumpy with anticipation as the house lights in the theatre went out. We were standing in the dark shouting Rancid! Suddenly the stage lights came on and Rancid was there! Posted by Araby Carlier @ 11:17 PM. Comments: Enregistrer un commentaire. Brooklyn, New York, United States. Drive Out the Bush Regime!
