Wednesday, July 22, 2015. Minions - My First Podcast With Reel World Theology! My first podcast up on the internet! I've increasingly become interested in doing podcasts and finally got to do one on the team of Reel World Theology. This one was all about the Minions. Film, part of the Despicable Me. Franchise. I really liked Despicable Me. And the sequel, but Minions. Was a disaster from the word "go.". Click the link below to listen in! 067 – Minions and Non-Family Entertainment. Alexis P. Johnson.

Saturday, September 20, 2014. You Are Being Watched." - Person of Interest. So I came to the Person of Interest. Party a little late and because of that I couldn’t watch Season 3 in real time and had to wait to binge watch it once the DVD was released on September 2nd. But in many ways I prefer marathoning and this was definitely worth the wait! Though I currently watch several shows, my personal opinion is that Person of Interest. So here we go! Guns and combat training are not necessary, but they help.

Wednesday, August 12, 2015. Reviewing the Classics: Metropolis - My Post on Reel World Theology! Today I had the honor of sharing my second written post with Reel World Theology. This was particularly fun as I really enjoy discussing early cinema. In recent years, I have become slightly infatuated with German Expressionism films. As fate would have it, a few people on the RWT team are also interested in this so I got to hop aboard their Reviewing the Classics. Please check out my review here: Metropolis.

Reel Cathedral: ICP - Lindsey Stirling
http://www.reelcathedral.net/2015/05/icp-lindsey-stirling.html
Tuesday, May 12, 2015. ICP - Lindsey Stirling. I want to start a series on this blog called ICPs. In this series I will share short posts featuring someone in media arts who exhibits creativity without the boundaries and control of big production companies or record labels. Someone who paved their own way and, through hard work and being genuinely themselves, made it. My first victim is Lindsey Stirling. In 2010, she was a quarter-finalist on America's Got Talent. During the quarter-final performance she...

Monday, August 31, 2015. The Jim Gaffigan Show - A Short Review. And I saw him live in 2010. In short, I am a fan. I have a high respect for Jim and his wife Jeannie. I'm impressed that they manage to make family a priority in the noisy streets of New York City where they raise their five kids in a two bedroom apartment. Yikes! I also love that they are very open about faith and even personal struggles. Jim, Jeannie, and their lovely, pale brood. Alexis P. Johnson. Wednesday, August 19, 2015. Man, the go...

Reel Cathedral: ICP - Quentin Tarantino
http://www.reelcathedral.net/2015/07/icp-quentin-tarantino.html
Wednesday, July 8, 2015. ICP - Quentin Tarantino. Probably one of the most well-known and controversial directors in Hollywood is Quentin Tarantino. I recall some film students I went to school with making him their own personal god. Though I do not share their religious exaltation, he truly is one of my favorite artists in film. When people ask me if I went to film school,. I tell them 'no, I went to films.". Just to name a couple. Keitel liked the script so much he contributed to funding, making hi...

http://www.reelcathedral.net/2012/12/death-to-mary-sue-or-why-twilight-sucks.html
Wednesday, December 5, 2012. Death to Mary Sue! Or, why Twilight sucks). There a thousand reasons why The “Toilet” Saga is one of the worst things to grace modern literature and cinema (except perhaps its adult counterpart, 50 Shades of Gray. So who is Mary Sue and what does she have to do with Twilight. The definition of Mary Sue as given by wisegeek.com is very well put. It states:. Stephenie Meyer may in fact be the biggest offender of Mary Sue writing of all time. Her Mary Sue is Bella Swan. However,...

Monday, April 6, 2015. A Tale of Two Cinder Girls - Looking at 1999's "Ever After" and 2015's "Cinderella". If you're one of my long-time readers you are already well aware that fairy tales are my life. I believe that the concept of parables or fairy tales is the best and most interesting presentation truth and reality that stays with you for your entire life. That being said, I was a little hesitant about Disney's upcoming Cinderella. In my humble opinion, I still believe Ever After: A Cinderella Story.
