Tuesday, March 3, 2009. LAD # 32 - FDR's First Inaugural. Overall, FDR's Inaugural was inspiring and incredible. It reminds me a lot of Obama's first inaugural - even though Roosevelt was many, many years prior, both men face very similar issues. One of the first points Roosevelt touches on is the tough economic times, comforting the people, giving them a pep talk and striaght up telling them what he was going to do about it. He plans to immediate economic provisions:. 2- to provide a stable currency.

Tuesday, March 24, 2009. LAD # 33 - The Truman Doctrine. In his address to Congress, President Truman expresses two major concerns being Greece's need for assistance as well as Turkey's need for aid. He argued that the well-being of these nations is closely tied to the well-being of the US, saying "the foreign policy and the national security of this country are involved".
