Tuesday, August 4, 2009. These pieces of art are really beautiful. there is one for each state. I love the bison. Danny occasionally makes promises, when we get in one of those moments where anything is possible for us, that we will have land with bison. Then I start to imagine about the Native American Bison and how maybe one day a little lost bison will walk it's way up to our back yard and see some chickens and think "um, this would be a nice place to rest". Crazier things have happened.

I am leaving tomorrow for what looks like a rainy 5 days in the Cohutta wilderness in Georgia. I am taking my Outdoor Pursuits class, so hopefully the rain will provide them with a new sense of fortitude and perseverance! I'm not working out today, and well, my low back is SORE from yesterday. It's a good sore, not an injury, but vitamin I has been my friend. 21 Deadlifts - 225#. 15 deadlifts - 225#. 9 deadlifts - 225#. I dared Chris into doing this with me and he got after it with a time of low 16's.

I did a dumbbell bear complex. Every minute on the minute complete the following. 5 dumbbell hang cleans. Go for 20 minutes. I started with Rx'd 45% BW (35# DB's). Did three rounds, dropped to 25# DB's. Dropped to 4 reps at the 11th minute. This is where I will keep track of the significant benchmarks that I have done. Most are pretty pathetic. All weights in pounds. To look at these benchmarks. Named WODs and other benchmarks. Death by pullups: 15 minutes. High box jump: 39 1/2 inches. Push Jerk: 1RM 155.

We also had a every man for himself grudge match, throwing the ball at people, trying to make them drop it. Great fun. Now it's time for thanksgiving in North Arkansas, and lots of non-zone food. Did my first crossfit total this morning. The total consists of your best of 3 attempts at 1 rep of the following exercises:. My best attempts were as follows:. Shoulder press: 115 lbs. Back squat: 250 lbs. Total to body weight ratio: 4.3 (BW 161 lbs). This afternoon it was nice outside and the sun is actually staying up past 4:30 so I did "Helen". 3 rounds for time. 21 kettlebell swings (53lbs Rx'd) I only have 36lbs.
