Landscape Favourites — DANIEL TALBOT photography

Looking along Papamoa Beach at the end of a glorious summer day, the yellew sky reflects beautifully off the wet sand. A cold snap has left the alps covered in snow, seen here between Christchurch and Nelson. A peaceful ocean at sunrise, Mount Maunganui. Mount Taranaki from the Marlborough Sounds. Mount Taranaki sticks up from the horizon at sunset. Ripples on the water with a ferry approaching. Powell River, BC, Canada. The bridge across the Te Rahu Canal, Whakatane. A perfectly still lake.
To Wellington, and back. — DANIEL TALBOT photography

To Wellington, and back. June 29, 2015. Yesterday I flew to Wellington and back twice. On the first trip we flew south at 10,000ft, half our normal height, to avoid strong headwinds. By the second trip the winds had changed a bit, so we were back to our usual 20,000ft. Here's some views from along the way. Looking southwest towards Taupo. Looking southeast towards Napier. Mount Ruapehu and Ngauruhoe. Mount Ruapehu and Ngauruhoe. Mount Ruapehu and Ngauruhoe. Looking towards the Manawatu.

Overhead Wellington, looking towards Marlborough and Farewell Spit. Larr; Auckland Plane Spotting. Tauranga at Night →.

July 10, 2015. It's been another cold week through New Zealand, with dustings of snow in many places. It was largely cloudy flying to Christchurch yesterday, but we got some views through the gaps of snow on the hills north of Hutt Valley. Snow over the lower North Island. Views and thoughts from the right-hand seat. Skip to primary content. June 30, 2010. The first half of 2010 is over. A quick update of my logbook and productivity sheets yields how busy (or not! I’ve been so far. It goes like this:. Flying Hours: 97.00 hours. Simulator: 121.00 hours. Duty Instructor: 99 hours. Far too much time on the ground! Let’s hope the last half of 2010 is more productive for my logbook……. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. One thought on “ Halftime check. June 30, 2010 at 20:15.

Views and thoughts from the right-hand seat. Skip to primary content. 8216;Round the Block’ TEA-style. November 14, 2010. I finally got my Technically Enhanced Aircraft (TEA) instrument rating on October 6th. As I already held an instrument rating this would be a renewal. In order to get use of the ILS at RNZAF Ohakea we had to be airborne by 0700 which meant an 0600 report to flightplan, refuel and pre-flight. No student to do that for me as I was the student! Jeppesen NAVDATA alerts- checked. This appr...

The Common Construct (addendum). Addendum to The Common Construct. The letters are very simple, eighteen of just two, three or four strokes and then the same eighteen with a dot added to make thirty-six. For the vowels I took a square and divided it into quarters and then added a single dot to each available position then two dots and then three which resulted in fourteen characters. Combined with the consonants I now had fifty letters. The lesson of course is to back up one’s data in more than one place.
