Ladies, You’re worth More than That |
http://www.danielwildeblog.com/ladies-youre-worth-more-than-that
Ladies, You’re worth More than That. Once when Jacob was cooking stew, Esau came in from the field, and he was exhausted. And Esau said to Jacob, “Let me eat some of that red stew, for I am exhausted! 8221; Jacob said, “Sell me your birthright now.” Esau said, “I am about to die; of what use is a birthright to me? Genesis 25: 29-34 (ESV). Our birthright. We are called sons and daughters of God. But how often do we dismiss these promises for something that initially satisfies? You desire a guy who complim...

Ultimately, Jesus Didn’t Die for You |

Ultimately, Jesus Didn’t Die for You. It’s true. Ultimately, Jesus didn’t die for you. But walk into just about any church and before you even find the coffee, which is your only hope for not awkwardly standing out, you’ll hear someone say, “Jesus died for you! 8221; Unsure of how to respond, you hesitantly, yet politely reply, “Thank you? I grew up in the church and I’ve always heard the exact same thing countless times. My chest would puff up a little bit as I thought “Jesus died for. I walked out of h...

I Didn’t Wait for My Future Spouse, and You Shouldn’t Either |
http://www.danielwildeblog.com/i-didnt-wait-for-my-future-spouse-and-you-shouldnt-either
I Didn’t Wait for My Future Spouse, and You Shouldn’t Either. I was more focused on how premarital sex would affect my relationship with my future spouse, than how it would affect my relationship with God. Premarital sex would definitely come in-between my future spouse and me, but more importantly, sin would come between my relationship with Jesus. Does it really glorify God when my motivation for waiting is less about Him and more about my future spouse? I should be more concerned about my relationship...

Winter « a priest in the 'hood
https://apriestinthehood.wordpress.com/2016/09/05/winter
A priest in the 'hood. September 5, 2016. Growing up, Memphis saw it’s share of snow. I mean for the South, a few inches a year was enough to get schools closed for a couple of days in January. Living in Brazil, we never saw snow. However, homes had no heat so when the temp reached 35F outside, it was just as cold inside! I’ve connected 2 words which I’ve always used separately; snow and tires. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. You are commenting...

Falling temps…and ice « a priest in the 'hood
https://apriestinthehood.wordpress.com/2016/09/28/falling-temps-and-ice
A priest in the 'hood. Falling temps…and ice. September 28, 2016. Memphis got a lot of ice anyway. We don’t know how to drive in ice and snow. One year it got so cold, our pool froze over. In the summer, my backyard growing up was always full of friends swimming and cooking out. But this odd January, and I want to say 1978, it got so cold we could play broom hockey on the pool. I just happened to look up at Lisgar, Michael’s high school. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

A priest in the 'hood. September 26, 2016. We’ve never lived in a high-rise apartment building before Canada. Michael, Melody and I live on the 8th floor with a wonderful view. We overlook the Ottawa River. The river serves as the state line between Ontario, where we live, and Québec, where people parle français. Don’t be impressed. I had to google “speak French”. Spiritually « a priest in the 'hood
https://apriestinthehood.wordpress.com/2016/09/07/spiritually
A priest in the 'hood. September 7, 2016. September 7, 2016. In Brasil, it was relatively easy to talk with students about spiritual things. Spiritual issues are important to students. Most see Jesus as “a” way to eternal security but not necessarily as “the” way to eternal security. But, the spiritual climate is cold. Most here don’t see their need of Jesus, much less anything spiritual. I’m reminded of Matthew 19:24-26 where Jesus encounters a wealthy person:. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel...

Adventure and Travel Photography. What’s So Good About Chamonix? If you haven’t read the first installment of this ‘season highlights’ blog, you can find it here. But first a brief moan; the parks in Chamonix are awful so I didn’t get to shoot as much freestyle as I’d hoped to. Then again, why go to Chamonix for man-made obstacles when the natural terrain is the best in the world? Kenny Jenkins following his in-built kicker radar. Ben Briggs launching off the Midi Arete.
