Dani's Year in Honduras. Tuesday, June 16, 2009. Every time I sit down to write on this blog I am absolutely amazed at how quickly the time passes. It never seems to be moving too quickly until I sit down and reflect on everything that has happened. Last week, Honduras registered a 5.4 earthquake that began in the ocean again. Dani's Year in Honduras. Sunday, May 24, 2009. It's been a while since my last post and a lot has been going on. As many of you know my grandfather passed away on May 1st. I took a surprise trip home from May 3rd to the 14th to go to the funeral and spend time with my family. Thanks to all of you for your kind words and prayers. Since returning to Honduras I jumped right back into work at the CFCA office. There were lots of translations that built up in my time away! Aiming right for it. This guy got one.

Dani's Year in Honduras. Sunday, November 15, 2009. This is the beautiful view of some volcanoes that we saw on our way to the communities. Here is Patrick turning over the keys of the house to the first family we visited. The oldest sister in this family was in charge of taking care of her younger siblings because the mother is mentally ill. Opening the door to her new home. Patrick also received a chicken from the family to show their gratitude. Sadly, the chicken did not have a very long lifespan.

Dani's Year in Honduras. Wednesday, December 16, 2009. Chichi, Birthday, Rally, MAT. Well, it's been a while! A lot has been going on here in Guatemala. I guess I'll start with the oldest event and go from there! Burning candles at the bottom of the stairs. One of the altars inside of the church. The 18 stairs leading up to the church are also part of the market. They are covered with vendors selling flowers. Here's the aftermath of the super-girl pinata. The cake with 24 candles. In May 2008, I graduated from the College of St. Benedict/St. John's University in Minnesota with degrees in Psychology and Spanish.
