A place where I can process life, following Jesus, and the role of economic development in solving the poverty and injustice of the world. Thursday, April 10, 2008. Quotes of the Day. Today I received some indirect compliments:. I am often an "advocate.". I am a good leader. And one person told me that she appreciates that we don't have to communicate "with kid gloves on.". Links to this post. Friday, April 4, 2008. Really. is that how it happened? Links to this post. Thursday, April 3, 2008. I know, I k...

Life 103: May 2006

Saturday, May 27, 2006. W E Zielie, my kindred spirit and life long pal who I miss terribly and who I hope is waiting for me by the gate. Auntie Myrtle Zielie, who worked harder than any woman ought to have to and never complained, and who lived both beautifully and simply in the same house for 60 years. Marge Weesner, who inspired me to live life fully no matter what, no matter when, no matter how you feel. Merril Holdahl, who welcomed me into his home, called me by name and taught me how godly men live.

Life 103: July 2006
http://life103.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 10, 2006. I see our version of who is in, and who is out, as too cut and dried. It’s harsh to the point of callousness. It’s too piteously small. It lacks imagination. It is so homogeneous and self-serving that it’s just plain boring. Yesterday morning in the quiet I asked God, Am I being arrogant and graceless too? Yesand no Not usually but.in some cases, maybe. In one case, very likely. Lord Jesus Christ,. Son of God,. Have mercy on me. Posted by kathy at 9:31 PM. View my complete profile.

Life 103: September 2006
http://life103.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 10, 2006. Yesterday our church joined some others in the area to throw a block party for the south side of Newberg. Not your ordinary block party. Our pastor has been getting together to pray with some other area pastors for a while now and this little group of mother hens hatched an idea to have a party on the south side with music, food, games and chore services all for free to area residents. Ospital the day before. She wanted a picture of the boys for their dad. Just them to...One g...

Life 103: August 2006
http://life103.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 23, 2006. Today, I made myself leave home to find a quiet place to listen. Fortunately I have friends in high places that let me keep a key to our church and the back row of the balcony suits me perfectly for times like this. My friend Gregg. Who I saw this morning and am sorry to report that he couldn’t keep that makeover up on his own so has let himself slip back into ordinary) recently asked me what I’ve been hearing from God. As usual, he is full of very good questions. The hospital...

Mischievious Maurer's Miscellaneous Misquotes: May 2007

Mischievious Maurer's Miscellaneous Misquotes. The random thoughts and observations of a self confessed. Music addict, business man and geocacher. Tuesday, May 29, 2007. It seems impossible for me to express the impact this had on me, so I invite you to look at the InvisibleChildren.com. The documentary was very moving and made me wonder what I could do. I’m just one man and these kids are on the other side of the earth. Can I really make a difference? These kids are putting action to their beliefs that ...

A place where I can process life, following Jesus, and the role of economic development in solving the poverty and injustice of the world. Monday, March 17, 2008. Today marks the 10th Anniversary of the day my grandmother, Maxine Ankeny, passed away. She battled cancer for as long as I can remember, and finally, on Saint Patrick's Day of my Freshman year in high school, she lost that battle. To begin, on a serious note:. I learned what it means to be a Christian and a Quaker from her. She cared for the w...

A place where I can process life, following Jesus, and the role of economic development in solving the poverty and injustice of the world. Thursday, July 5, 2007. It was a long day spent fixing my car, spending time with the family-in-law, floating down a river, and.oh did I mention, fixing my car. I'm tired, I have homework, and I'm about to go and direct a camp at the beach where there will be 200 junior high youth. I'm tired now.it's only just begun. Links to this post. Monday, July 2, 2007. A place where I can process life, following Jesus, and the role of economic development in solving the poverty and injustice of the world. Thursday, February 21, 2008. Watching the meme go round. It's been fun in this very stressful week to open my Feed Reader of choice. To find a different person attempt the meme that I passed along. For me at least, a meme always seems to not go very far. You see, Wess. Here is my highlight and a few awards from my meme reading this week. Hands down. I mean really?
