I was co-race director of the Scorched Sole Ultra in Kelowna which ran for eight years from 2006 to 2014. Proceeds from the race went to support local charities. The Scorched Sole Ultra raised $2,710 for charity at the 2011 version. $1,000 to i2P, $500 to Kelowna Jumpstart Chapter, $500 to Strong Kids Kelowna Chapter, Sponsored a family for Christmas and purchased running shoes for selected runners. Finalists for Male Athlete of the Year were invited to name a charity of their choice to receive $1,000 from the Thomas Budd Foundation. Boys and Girls Club Strong Kids was the recipient. Follow me on these sites. Ride Through The Rockies is just 1 week away. This will be the biggest and best yet. 25 riders doing 400km plus over 5 days with day 3 being the Banff Gran Fondo. Our goal is $125,000 however fundraising is tough due to the poor economy in Alberta this year. We are excited and whatever we raise it will help get a family into their own home.
