Dan 'Spider' Shepherd, by Stephen Leather
Spider @ MI5
http://www.danspidershepherd.com/spider@mi5.html
In Fair Game, Spider boards a huge container vessel being targeted by pirates. Despite being under the impression that it would be virtually impossible for it to be taken, he takes to the high seas to rescue two kidnapped crews. He then has to travel on to London to avert a mjor terrorist threat, all the while being hunted down by the Real IRA. Anyone would think he wasn't being kept busy enough!
Short Stories
http://www.danspidershepherd.com/shortstories.html
Last year, Stephen and Tesco ran a competition to win the Nightingale series and some horror dvds to celebrate the release of 'Nightmare'. The idea was that Stephen started a short story about me, and the competition was to finish it. You can read that and the replies here. They announced the winner! Spider's Web contains two short stories involving Spider. In Hard Target, an assassin is preparing his next job, but will Spider be able to stop him making the kill?
Spider's CV
http://www.danspidershepherd.com/spidersCV.html
Okay, here's a bit about me. I was about 12 years old when I realised I wanted to be a soldier. Some friends and I went into an army careers office to shelter from the rain and the Sergeant put a video tape on for us. Remember those? Someone who earned loads of money? Well, what did I know, I was just a kid right? I realised then, that I'd only be doing that because my Mum and Dad told me to, to make them happy and to give them something to show off to the neighbours.
Spider @ SOCA

Do you want to know what I look like? Normal. Average. Forgettable. Not exactly the most attractive sounding characteristics I agree, but it makes it a lot easier to do my job! I'm just under six feet tall, have an average build, brown hair that's not too short, blue eyes, size ten feet. I'm fit, but not bulky and I don't have any tattoos. I tend to dress in ordinary, average, forgettable clothing and drive an ordinary looking car.". Why don't you do this test. Dead Men takes Spider to Northern Ireland t...

Stephen Leather's Blog: November 2014
http://stephenleather.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 16, 2014. Terrific Amazon Discounts On The Spider Shepherd Collections. I've always been a big fan of selling eBooks cheaply. I was one of the first authors to offer novels for just 99p and as a result became one of the top-selling authors on the Kindle. These days most authors - even those who used to complain about low prices somehow devaluing their work - can be seen selling their books cheaply. That's the case now with two of my Hodder and Stoughton published books. The Time In London.
Stephen Leather's Blog: February 2015

Monday, February 16, 2015. My Website Is Down - Thanks Internetters! My website - www.stephenleather.com - has been out of commission since Saturday, and my email through that account isn't working. It's all down to my internet provider - www.internetters.co.uk - who have dropped the ball, big-time. What makes it worse is that the people at Internetters. Don't work in the evenings or at weekends. That's right, they work 9-5 and don't answer the phone or reply to emails outside of those hours. Unbelievabl...
Stephen Leather's Blog: New Covers On The Way
http://stephenleather.blogspot.com/2015/05/new-covers-on-way.html
Wednesday, May 13, 2015. New Covers On The Way. My publisher Hodder and Stoughton have been throwing around ideas for a revamp of my backlist. Here are the new versions they're planning for The Stretch and Tango One. I think they're awesome! Nice covers, but a couple of tiny comments.Tango One - I would have the gun in the waistband more prominent to emphasise it and the fact the book is a thriller (although the dark and brooding guy should almost be enough! May 15, 2015 at 9:07 AM. The Time In London.
Stephen Leather's Blog: October 2014

Thursday, October 2, 2014. The Power Of Amazon. I've been a huge KDP fan ever since it started, and am hugely grateful for the way KDP and Amazon have boosted my sales over the past three years. As well as self-publishing several books through KDP, I gave two of my books - Once Bitten and The Basement - to Amazon to publish through their Thomas and Mercer imprint. That was three years ago, and yesterday - yes, yesterday - Once Bitten was in the US Kindle Top 100. How cool is that? The Time In London.

Thursday, September 18, 2014. The Eight Curious Cases Of Inspector Zhang. Some time ago I started writing short locked-room mysteries featuring a detective from Singapore, Inspector Zhang, and his pretty young sidekick, Sergeant Lee. The stories are great fun to write but a little difficult, which is why over two years I have only managed eight. I have titles (and set-ups) for several more but haven't yet managed to work through the plots! You can buy the eBook for the Kindle BY CLICKING HERE. Usually th...

Tuesday, March 10, 2015. Black Ops - the 12th Spider Shepherd Thriller - Is Done And Dusted. Black Ops, the 12th book in my Spider Shepherd series - is off to the printers. I'm well pleased with it, I think it's a cracker of a story. Hodder and Stoughton have already decided that this is the cover, I think. Black Ops is on sale in July but is already available on pre-sale at Amazon - YOU CAN GET IT BY CLICKING HERE. Here's the synopsis -. WHO CAN YOU TRUST IF YOU CAN'T TRUST YOURSELF? Despite it being a ...

D A N S P I E K | Creating a powerful voice through movement.
Creating a powerful voice through movement. August 24, 2015. Wow, our last post was a while ago…. With all of the numerous activities and events in our lives ready to steal our attention, developing a “creative habit” becomes increasingly difficult, no matter how vital. And when you add juggling the grind of a non-creative full-time job, what time and energy is there left for passion? Passion must never be sacrificed! Photo by Gregory Addison. Rich Lugo, Artistic Director. Film Review: THE BABADOOK.
