Journey in Patience: Update with a view
http://patiencetwo.blogspot.com/2013/04/so-view-from-top-looks-something-like.html
Sailing, boating, life in general and maybe some politics. Comments welcome. Monday, April 15, 2013. Update with a view. So, the view from the top looks something like this:. With a nice view:. And the helm used to look like this:. And now it looks like this:. The picture doesn't truly show the 'view', angle is wrong. Yes, we can both see over it quite well. Chuckles ;) and Mary. Journey in Patience: May 2013
http://patiencetwo.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Sailing, boating, life in general and maybe some politics. Comments welcome. Tuesday, May 21, 2013. On Friday I ordered a:. Battery Monitor System. Specifically a BMV 602 from Compass Marine (Maine Sail on many sailing forums). Http:/ www.pbase.com/mainecruising/need a monitor. Freebie: http:/ www.pbase.com/mainecruising/butyl tape. A depth finder/sonar transducer from a site I won't advertise. I installed the depth sounder / sonar on Monday since it takes 2-4 days for the sealant to cure around the base.

Journey in Patience: August 2012
http://patiencetwo.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Sailing, boating, life in general and maybe some politics. Comments welcome. Tuesday, August 7, 2012. Our first Yacht Club raft up 'attempt' this year began with a triumph and ended in a triumph, even though it included two tows and a mechanic visiting our boat. Going into a narrow creek, and therefore on the motor, the motor RPM's fluctuated up and down. We've had that happen so many times because of a faulty fuel pump in year one that we have the drill down pat. Called for a tow from a Yacht Club sailo...

Journey in Patience: It takes a village
http://patiencetwo.blogspot.com/2013/04/it-takes-village.html
Sailing, boating, life in general and maybe some politics. Comments welcome. Friday, April 12, 2013. It takes a village. Remember the simple little whirly gig look thing from my last post? It's a rather innoculous looking device isn't it? You see, to send that information down below you have to either buy into wireless technology to magically transport it or a hard piece of cave man technology called multiple wires. I'm not a Luddite, really I'm not. Wireless works. Yeah well, not a one man job. That's J...

Journey in Patience: September 2012
http://patiencetwo.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Sailing, boating, life in general and maybe some politics. Comments welcome. Monday, September 10, 2012. A change of Patience. This post is just a tad over due. They say the happiest day in a boaters life is the day he buys his boat - and the day he sells that boat is the saddest (and or happiest again). Here's our new boat. It's a 1987 Irwin 38 Center Cockpit. It's immaculate, it's exactly what we wanted in a cruiser. When you find what you want - why keep looking for the next best deal? Now you know wh...

Journey in Patience: Skin in the game
http://patiencetwo.blogspot.com/2013/05/busy-week-in-boat-land-or-dock.html
Sailing, boating, life in general and maybe some politics. Comments welcome. Tuesday, May 21, 2013. Skin in the game. Busy week in boat land (or dock, whichever you prefer). I gathered the courage and whipped out my dirt cheap (Harbor Freight) 7 inch buffer so I could put some shine where previously I'd just applied some very expensive compound and wax. It took a little persuasion, and a couple layers of skin. Okay, not really, but it's a lot better than what Mary and i worked up by hand. View my complet...

Journey in Patience: April 2013
http://patiencetwo.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Sailing, boating, life in general and maybe some politics. Comments welcome. Monday, April 29, 2013. I had the opportunity this past weekend to take the boat out and about on a two night cruise with a friend. I'm happy to report that she lived up to all expectations. We found a few minor issues (a sticky float on the bilge pump for example) but nothing that didn't work. In other words a shake down and not a break down cruise. The weather forecasts had been for 5-8 knots of wind all weekend. A check o...

Journey in Patience: July 2012
http://patiencetwo.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Sailing, boating, life in general and maybe some politics. Comments welcome. Wednesday, July 11, 2012. Wow, it's been a while. Sailing season does that. Here's what I've been doing. Soft Deck makes an EVA foam pad non-skid, it's 1/4 inch thick, soft underfoot, doesn't heat up and according to Practical Sailor is actually better than traditional non-skid for not slipping, easier on skin, knees, buts, and such. The bad news is what that might spell for the longevity of the product. Chuckles ;) and Mary.

Journey in Patience: November 2011
http://patiencetwo.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Sailing, boating, life in general and maybe some politics. Comments welcome. Thursday, November 17, 2011. I'm a Cruiser / Racer as opposed to a Racer / Cruiser. Both have there place in sailing. I was asked by a good friend and sailing buddy why I'm spending boat bucks on performance gear (sail tweakers like travelers and vangs and such) considering I don't race Patience Two. I've topped 10.3 kts on my boat. In the right wind (over 16kts) a mono has no chance. Kicking them around on corrected time. Okay,...
