Chiaroscuro Self Portraits - Off Camera Flash. Monday, August 30, 2010. You can really have some fun with off camera flash. I recently chopped my 1.5m ETTL cord in half. Yes, I took a pair of wire cutters to a perfectly good ETTL cord. No I am not crazy. I was performing this CAT5 ETTL extension mod. Made a great opportunity to play with some creative shots. Of course, since this is DIYP there's a hack in it. It is using an optically triggered hacked slave flash that was fitted in a Lantern.
