Wednesday, December 17, 2014. We made a quick getaway to Florida between Thanksgiving and Christmas break this year, and it was wonderful! Early December may not be typical vacation time, but we decided to take some time off before Jeff's busy season at work starts and he gets consumed with accounting duties until the spring. Mary and Dean were our travel companions and we had a great time together! Seriously, high 70's in December? Skulkin' aroung Knockturn Alley. Platform 9 3/4 was amazing! It was fun ...

Sunday, November 30, 2014. Ugly Sweater Run 2014. The best way to kick off the Holiday season . . . take part in the Ugly Sweater Run! Mary and Dean joined us in this merriest of 5k's and we had a jolly good time. Love the knit caps we got for participating! And the giant Santa . . .which looked more like a giant gnome. It was fun running with everyone in our christmas gear. A couple of christmas elves. Jeff is way better at heel clicking than I am. Monday, November 24, 2014. Sunday, November 16, 2014.

My family just opened another candy shop in downtown Boise! My brothers had driven down from Oregon and arrived that evening, and we did get to spend a little time with them in between all of the busyness. We. Mom and the freshly groomed christmas pooch. Christmas morning came and I was the first one to wake up! Dump it to krumpit trash gift.

Thursday, April 17, 2014. The One Where Jeff Turns 26. The main thing we did for his birthday was go to a New England Revolution soccer match. Luckily for us, the game was on the most beautiful Saturday afternoon and we relished the nice weather. The whole living through New England winters thing has thickened our blood or something because it was 70 degrees on the day of the game and we were sitting there in t-shirts sweating and feeling like it was 90. Spring weather never felt so warm and good.

Manning the Post: Mother's Day 2015
http://manning-the-post.blogspot.com/2015/05/mothers-day-2015.html
Sunday, May 17, 2015. My mom flew in from Idaho for the weekend and we had the opportunity to spend Mother's Day with her! But we sampled a few of their other options and determined that the Lavender Earl Grey Teacake and the Coconut were our favorites. Mmmm, springtime in boston. Original Cheers restaurant, where everybody knows your name. I recommend the applewood smoked bacon, arugula, and tomato! If you do the tour they'll let you throw "tea" off the ship! On Mother's Day we woke up early hopped in t...

Tuesday, July 28, 2015. It was a great service project to be part of. We basically got a free canoe ride out of it! We worked in pairs to pull the water chestnuts out of the water to free up space for other plants to thrive. We were informed after the service project that our group collected 190 baskets of water chestnuts, clearing out about 4,180 pounds of plant material from the river! Beautiful day to be out on the river. Mary and Jake working hard! Maddy and Todd Kitchen. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Manning the Post: Favorite Foods

We have loved sipping this refreshingly cool smoothie on warm summer nights. Here's the recipe so you can enjoy it too! 1 cup water (we use half cold water, half coconut water). 15 green seedless grapes (frozen). 3 small ripe peaches. Blend everything on high (or on smoothie mode in your vitamix), pour into glasses, and enjoy. Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookies. 2 cups flour (use oat flour for a healthier option). 1/2 tsp baking soda. 4 tbsp agave nectar. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Bake for 6-8 minutes.

Tuesday, July 22, 2014. This month Jeff was able to participate in a corporate charity event which involved playing soccer at GILLETTE STADIUM! The company Jeff works for was one of 36 teams to enter the Scores Cup tournament this year, and he and his team represented KPMG well. They made it passed group play and all the way to the semi-finals! It was a fun event that was made even cooler because it took place at Gillette Stadium. Jeff's pretty sure he peed in the same urinal as Tom Brady. Pied We walked...

Saturday, June 20, 2015. A Roadtrip to New Brunswick and the Women's World Cup. When I found out that this year's women's World Cup tournament was being held in Canada I got so excited! We purchased tickets as soon as they went on sale and planned a weekend getaway with our friends Jake and Rosie, who are also big soccer fans, and got tickets to watch a couple of matches that were being played in Moncton, New Brunswick. The idea of visiting eastern Canada was so exciting! And treats like maple cones - an...
