Dark City Silhouette

Thought i was brave for staying while it was all destroyed. Thought i could fight it. Thought i could save it. Now i realize i was only foolish. Left alone in the wreckage and ruins. I used to be so brave. To write with such conviction and transparency. And now – i can barely jot down a thought or feeling before i resign. I'm just a shell anymore, some empty vessel floating and twisting down a stream of minutes and days. An ant in an aircraft carrier. This little ant with vibrating translucent wings.

Dark City Silhouette: story shapes

http://www.darkcitysilhouette.blogspot.com/2009/09/story-shapes.html

I find myself thinking about story again, the power of narrative and it's function in human perception of the world in which we live. I think of certain tribal cultures whose world view was shaped by the oral stories passed down from generation to generation that shape the way each human member experiences the world. and i wonder how the world must have looked through their eyes and their mind, through the stories they knew and believed in. If I wasn't indoctrinated with Christianity and Capitalism?

Dark City Silhouette: unloaded

http://www.darkcitysilhouette.blogspot.com/2009/09/unloaded.html

This body spills out off the shelf of reason, boxes of cereal and canned vegetables. This body is a heaping pile of things consumed for breakfast lunch and dinner, eyes licked clean the television screen and hours of sucking down the streaming digital feed. Spilt like milk on linoleum floor peeled back and brown at the edges, water stains and food residue that no one wants to clean, will never be cleaned. Everything let loose with the hounds. Out to wander and sniff about. A world out of bounds and limits.

Dark City Silhouette: November 2009

http://www.darkcitysilhouette.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html

Torn and tumbling on. I woke up this morning to a stillness so heavy and a light so crispy bright. Quiet for miles save a slight rustle of dried leaves on the cottonwood trees outside the window, golden flashes in the blinding blue sky. Then I coughed up a warm mouth full of mucus textured like curdled milk and dark green when I spit it into the sink. Could I be a little ill? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Dark City Silhouette: December 2009

http://www.darkcitysilhouette.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html

A taste of living hell. Sleep comes and goes like the passing shadows of clouds, light and then less light and back again, no pattern. just countless obscurities that lull and pass. such is sleep in the bed of the sick. why am i still sick? Over a week and still the illness clings to me like some bloodsucking creature with every tooth and claw embedded in my flesh, gripping deeper as i peel it away just to hang on longer. Benefit #151 of working at a school: the snow day! Yes, i got the call this morning just before 6am, how awesome is that? Chicago got dumped on last night, and so here i am snowed in. it's great. i was kinda wondering how i would finish up all my xmas crafts and cards, wrap presents, pack, and clean the apartment all in one day. and then i was given the gift of two full days to get it done! I really look forward to seeing family and friends in the coming weeks. and the much-needed break couldn't have...

unreality: new lens

http://mollyetta.blogspot.com/2008/12/new-lens.html

Here's some first shotz from tha new lenz of our happy family. this is under low light. the lens is capable of mad bokeh (which is some sort of fancy terminology that makes me feel like a pro when using it). we also are not using a tripod, when all i hear these days is that you MUST use a tripod or everything you do will be crapola. The bull head photo illustrates the shallow depth of field and that bokeh i was talking about (the blurry crap in the background). Chaussures en ligne pas cher.

unreality: obama election night footage

http://mollyetta.blogspot.com/2008/11/obama-election-night-footage.html

Obama election night footage. Joe and i shot this video on tuesday night in grant park. it fails to convey the excitement or the sheer joy shared by all. it further fails to put faces to the masses, but it was dark and crowded, so what can i say? I wish i could've gotten more footage when the actual announcement was made, but we were a little caught up in the moment :). Cool video. Awesome to see so many people that wanted to be a part of the process. Keep the videos coming. View my complete profile.

I'll admit that i was only mildy interested to hear that mccain was about to publicly choose his veep today, since i assumed it would be pawlenty or romney or something predictable like that. then i got home tonight to find out.palin? So i'm junking out on this currently. Vice presidents aren't necessarily a huge factor in elections but in this case mccain is OLD! Isn't that a weird thing to say? So, Black's joking, right?
