A ravenous reader blogs on all things bookish. As we prepare to put our old house on the market, I’ve been busy eradicating all the signs from doors and walls. Yes, you read that right. My old house has signs. Pasted in various places all over. When my son was small he adored traffic signs, and we made regular trips to educational stores where they were sold in boxes of various sizes. He would have jumped onto this custom signs website. Really Into Real Estate. Does it even matter to me where that backya...

A ravenous reader blogs on all things bookish. TLC Book Tours: The Baker’s Daughter. Really Into Real Estate. Never in a million years would I have imagined that within the space of 10 months I would be embroiled in selling two houses and buying another. Aren’t I the girl that just longs to lie around in the backyard with her nose buried in books? Does it even matter to me where that backyard is as long as it’s quiet and no one bothers me while I’m reading? Isn’t reading the thing that interests me most?

Lost in the Frame: Synecdoche, New York
http://lostintheframe.blogspot.com/2009/01/synecdoche-new-york.html
Lost in the Frame. K Silem Mohammad's Film Notes. Synecdoche, New York. Philip Seymour Hoffman and Samantha Morton in Synecdoche, New York. Dir Charlie Kaufman, 2008). The heading for one of the message board threads at the IMDb page for Synecdoche, New York. Reads, "Maybe this makes more sense to atheists.". Makes sense to atheists. That's the way we like it. I am left deeply unsatisfied, nevertheless, by the incoherence of the frivolous Schenectady/synecdoche. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). 160; H...

buckycatt's blog: Cat etiquette
http://buckycatt.blogspot.com/2008/10/cat-etiquette.html
Sunday, October 19, 2008. Dear Ms. Kitty Manners -. I am writing to you today to ask your opinion about a couple of cat etiquette issues. My two cat family members, Onyx 12 and Maggie 11, and I have recently moved into a spacious two-bedroom apartment. Because everything in our home is new and/or fresh from relocation, I have become more aware of some possible rude behavior from my recently relocated cat companions. Saturday, August 30, 2008. Books, tomes, volumes. I looooooove books. I've been packing my beloved books all week for moving to my new apartment. So, I thought for a little long weekend. Levity I'd give you the final tally: I am taking with me 23 boxes of mysteries, histories and romance (w/ a lot of miscellaneous in between). And there are another 8 stuffed, lawn and leaf sized garbage bags for an upcoming garage sale. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Pop culture, beauty product, cat and life observer.

buckycatt's blog: My Year of Reading Voraciously
http://buckycatt.blogspot.com/2009/11/my-year-of-reading-voraciously.html
Sunday, November 15, 2009. My Year of Reading Voraciously. November 15, 2008. I’d just passed my Title Insurance exam and I called to share my relief with my beloved friend Sherri. I told her I was going to shop a bit in the big city before returning home. She asked if I would pick up a book she had heard was good. It was a Young Adult book about vampires called Twilight. I bought her the paperback and that began my year of reading voraciously. Don’t get me wrong I have always been a reader. I didn’...
