Dartfrog's Adventures in 6mm and such: Baccus Gallery
http://dartfrog06mm.blogspot.com/p/baccus-gallery.html
Just another aging wargamer journaling his assault on the lead mountain. As an act of total vanity, I have decided to aggregate all of my army photos onto their own pages. As I finish the army pages, the titles below each picture will link to these dedicated pages. Almost all of the figures pictured are from Baccus Miniatures. Although the Napoleonic collection includes several Adler command and cavalry models. War of the Roses. Fatimids, Reconquesta Crusaders. France and Her Allies. 3mm Modern Pico Armor.
Dartfrog's Adventures in 6mm and such: Some 16th Century Goodness to end out the month.
http://dartfrog06mm.blogspot.com/2015/06/some-16th-century-goodness-to-round-end.html
Just another aging wargamer journaling his assault on the lead mountain. Tuesday, June 30, 2015. Some 16th Century Goodness to end out the month. As with all of my heavy cavalry for the period so far, these are Wargames Foundry figures, and they are excellent models. I went with some printed banners for a change of pace, and of course the 'leader' figure at the center. This gives me four complete stands of Men-at-arms, so I couldn't resist doing a group shot. Also making its way over the finish line is a...
Dartfrog's Adventures in 6mm and such: An Early start on Halloween 2015
http://dartfrog06mm.blogspot.com/2015/06/an-early-start-on-halloween-2015.html
Just another aging wargamer journaling his assault on the lead mountain. Tuesday, June 30, 2015. An Early start on Halloween 2015. Thus I now have five units to add to the mix including the Spearmen shown above and some more lightly armored swordsmen. In both cases, I am using on of the older GW Skeleton warrior sculpts to denote a unit leader to rally around. (Mostly for movement purposes in LR). And what undead horde would be complete without the addition of some Zombies? And his vile lieutenants.
Dartfrog's Adventures in 6mm and such: Jarl Sigvaldi and his Jomsvikings
http://dartfrog06mm.blogspot.com/2015/08/jarl-sigvaldi-and-his-jomsvikings.html
Just another aging wargamer journaling his assault on the lead mountain. Wednesday, August 5, 2015. Jarl Sigvaldi and his Jomsvikings. Two if his warriors are equipped with iron reinforced wooden plank shields which gives them a less civilized look. I tried to mix it up with the hair colors to add a little life to the paint schemes. August 5, 2015 at 6:51 PM. Good to see you back at the painting table! The shield transfers turned out well and your bald viking looks quite menacing. Nice aditions; presentl...

Just another aging wargamer journaling his assault on the lead mountain. Wednesday, May 20, 2015. We have played a few games of Lion Rampant with it acting as a single unit with ranged attack and melee. (Basically Mounted Knight unit with longbow). Speaking of Lion Rampant it has finally sparked my interest in continuing my next "Rehabilitating the Past" project. 4th Ed WFB Bretonnian Knights. Father and Son gaming. May 21, 2015 at 3:01 AM. On Wargames and Such: December 2011
http://mazikainen.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
On Wargames and Such. Friday, December 30, 2011. The dismounted cavalry remain lost. I have no idea where they are and have turned the place upside down. I wonder if I've managed to dump them in the trash alongside the mess I cleaned from the dollhouse project. If so, it is a sad loss. Gettysburg day 1 project and last games night. Sir, if you want to fight here, this is such lovely ground, it's the best damn ground I've seen all day." "It is that.". A slight problem with the project has arisen. I se...

On Wargames and Such. Sunday, May 20, 2012. Testing out the Army Painter anti-shine matt varnish spray. So, I shook the can vigorously for at least a minute, which was advised in the can and got to work. At first, being a careful guy, I tried the product on some figures painted by my wife. I mean. they were figures which ended up being really glossy so these would be perfect candidates to be "saved" by the matte spray! Now, here's a different unit, painted in the same way but now given just a couple of l...

On Wargames and Such. Thursday, May 26, 2011. Bull Run Order of battle Beta. Here's a look on what I've done with the Orders of battle until now: Bull Run oob PDF. The OOB might see some minor changes, but I doubt that I will be adding much more stands to it as I have quite a bit to paint as it is. I ordered the last batch of miniatures I need from Baccus. The last batch of stands I need from Litko. And a metric ton of small scale model trees from China. Tuesday, May 24, 2011. I also like the look on the...

On Wargames and Such. Friday, November 18, 2011. Me and Simo played a game of Brandywine. During two sessions recently. It is one of GMT's American Revolution series games, and I'm quite fond of the series rules. This was perhaps the fourth game of the series I've played and quite interesting as a scenario. The Battle of Brandywine. The remnants of Maxwell's detachment try to reach friendly lines across the creek. Grant's troops cross the creek in the American center. Meanwhile on the left, the remnants ...

On Wargames and Such. Saturday, March 31, 2012. American revolution: battle of Guilford. The american revolution is not my pet period, but I find coming back because of the excellent Battles of the American Revolution series of games written by Mark Miklos and published by GMT. The rules are light, smooth and fast, and manage to be so without sacrificing much realism. Gameplay rarely bogs down and the system scales well to different engagements. Last time I got thoroughly beaten at Brandywine. On the oth...

http://mazikainen.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
On Wargames and Such. Friday, October 28, 2011. Looks like my autumn is very active gaming-wise since this week I had the opportunity to play three games. Each of them represented a different era and a different style of wargame. I went to see a friend of mine in the provincial town of Riistavesi and took with me the Port Republic game I made for last Warcon. Since I had only played it through once before, I was happy to get it on the table. So, 6mm ACW it was! Valor of the Guards. Last up, some more ASL!

On Wargames and Such. Saturday, August 27, 2011. I did a small 30 cm * 30 cm terrain tile as an excecise for the Port republic table, have a look:. The water areas are made first by painting a few successively darker brown colors building to almost black where the water is deep. It is then covered with "realistic water" in the lake and "water effects" in the river. Now, lessons learned:. Thursday, August 18, 2011. Me and Timo played a 6 hour game of Multi-Man Publishing's A Victory Denied. Anyways, here'...
