Based in the Overberg, close to Caledon in the Western Cape Province, he is a dairy farmer with a camera and a special gift of seeing the world. His love of nature inspires all his work. Wicus is a crane conservationist with a passion for South Africa’s national bird - the Blue Crane. Due to the joint effort of the Overberg Crane Group and the whole community, the number of Blue Cranes in this area has grown from only 600 two decades ago to 12 000 at the moment.

From humble beginnings 12 years ago, we sold homemade goods from two wagons next to the N2. In 1995 we built the farmstall and a year later the restaurant was added to become what is today a thriving business. We are open 7 days a week, 8:30 to 17:30. Traditional farmers fare, cheese and flour.
