Characters or Plot – The Twenty
https://thetwenty.wordpress.com/2013/04/09/characters-or-plot
Thought is only a flash in the middle of the night but this flash is everything. Henri Poincare. April 9, 2013. There are two extremes in writing: literature and non-literature. In literature we find the great works, we find Gatsby, Quijote, Alexandrovich, O’Hara, the classic characters that create the plot with their decisions, the characters that surprise the authors with unexpected whims and mood swings. Don Quijote for instance, creates the plot literally in his mind with his delusions. You are comme...

Hemingway’s 1954 Nobel Prize Acceptance Speech – The Twenty

Thought is only a flash in the middle of the night but this flash is everything. Henri Poincare. April 26, 2013. April 26, 2013. Hemingway’s 1954 Nobel Prize Acceptance Speech. Having no facility for speech-making and no command of oratory nor any domination of rhetoric, I wish to thank the administrators of the generosity of Alfred Nobel for this Prize. Writing, at its best, is a lonely life. Organizations for writers palliate the writer’s loneliness but I doubt if they improve his writing....How sim...

Horror, Horror! Who is the cruelest person in the world? | Magic with Action

Be proactive…change the world around you…! Who is the cruelest person in the world? December 22, 2014. Children paying homage to the young martyrs. I cannot describe the gut-wrenching massacre at the Army Public School, Peshawar. Nor can I make a politically or historically correct analysis about the losses suffered by Pakistan in the war against terror. Peace is the ONLY way forward. All around me, I see people losing composure. Whether it is news reporters. Covering the ghastly incident or anchors.

Ruminations of a Lunatic. On January 2, 2014 by Dev! To be fairly honest, I had no intent of writing anything albeit a few moments ago. The reason? Just like all previous years, this year started on a decent note. Everything seemed to be going my way as I was getting a track of my life and putting pieces of it together but then again, aren’t we all always doing that? We try to falsify ourselves with hopes and delusions when we know that most dreams aren’t meant to be? And the senseless rant continues.

Thought is only a flash in the middle of the night but this flash is everything. Henri Poincare. March 17, 2014. May 15, 2014. Read Like a Writer. Thought is only a flash in the middle of the night but this flash is everything. Henri Poincare. May 6, 2013. May 6, 2013. Novels of Today and Yesteryear. Over the weekend I read a review of the film. In which the author suggested that ‘the movie, like the book, was anything but great’. It got me thinking about what has gone wrong in our culture. We are now producing critics who are unable to understand literature. The Red and The Black. The Tale of Two Cities. This Side of Paradise. How does one not adm...
