デリーでももちろんバイクやスクーターに乗る人はヘルメットの着用が義務でしたが、今までは女性はかぶらなくても問題ありませんでした。それは、宗教上の理由から。 インドに多くいるシーク教徒の方々は、頭にターバン以外かぶり物をしてはならないという宗教上の規則があり、ヘルメットもかぶれません。男性はターバンを巻いているので見ただけでシーク教徒と分かりますが、女性はターバンを巻かないので見ただけでは分からず、取り締まりができない。なので、女性はみんなヘルメットをかぶらなくてもよかったんです。 でも安全上の観点からやはりヘルメットは必要ということで女性も義務化になったそう。今でもシーク教徒の女性はかぶらなくてもいいようですが、どうやって取り締まるんだろう？ シーク教徒の総本山、黄金寺院。みなさんターバン巻いています。 お勉強をして、遊んで、お昼ご飯を食べて、お昼寝をして、おやつを食べて、午後までSEEDS-INDIAで過ごします。 SEEDS-INDIAの畑ではありませんが、トマス家の裏庭にこんな素敵な畑ができています。農薬や化学肥料を使わない作物を育てています。 以前はよくリシケシで友人のプシュパと過ごしていました...
