Tales of a Teenage Peafowl Enthusiast. Sunday, June 17, 2007. Runaway peas, ravenous chicks, and hatching (maybe) looking up. It's been a busy week here in PA! The two surviving chicks from our last disasterous hatch are adorable little monsters. For awhile I wasn't sure that they knew how to eat on their own, and I'm still not certain on this point, but they're still alive, so they have to! But I already have two breeding pens producing 'em, and two pens of silver pieds, so I really don't need any more!
