Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Location: 241 E. 10th St. People: RB, CK and myself. What do you do on another cold wintery day in NYC? Share a massive bowl of cold, creamy shaved snow cream. At Snowdays in East Village! Beat the winter food cliches. This Taiwanese style melt-in-your-mouth dessert is still not ubiquitous in the city. The menu is more Americanized, but there are plenty of red beans, mochi and matcha toppings available. Whatever you do, do NOT forget to add Pocky. Bon Chon for Vegetarians?

Both savory and sweet grilled cheese (Nutella, banana and Mascarpone with ice cream, anyone? I must urge you to get sweet potato tater tots (small $4, large $7). So crunchy and subtly sweet.

Ramen and Friends: Somtum Der 12-07-2013
http://www.ramenandfriends.com/2013/12/somtum-der-12-07-2013.html
Tuesday, December 17, 2013. Location: 85 Ave A. People: RB, CK and myself. Feelings: Another Isan-style Thai? Ever since Woodside's famous Sripraphai. S arrival, NYC has become saturated, or even over-saturated with Isan food. But when it comes to this flavor-packed delicacy, one could never have enough. We are better off with more fermented fish sauce and spices- and less sugar-y pad thai. Somtum Der from Bangkok also does not disappoint. The flavoring is somewhat similar to Ayada. Steven is in New York.
