News updates for the Dating Old Welsh Houses Group. Thursday, 23 July 2015. Our July meeting was a visit to Cae Canol Mawr, Llan Ffestiniog. We drove in convoy up the narrow track to where the small fields met the rocky slopes of Manod. Cae Canol Mawr is tucked into the hillside beneath the crags, facing south and with great views west to Cardigan Bay. Thirteen of us then studied the exterior of this unusual stone walled farmhouse which has only one window in the front and back first floor elevations.
