Monday, August 10, 2015. Japan Day 5&6 Himeji and Takayama. We rode the shinkanzen 45 minutes out of our way to see this newly restored castle in Himeji. It was a great choice! It is the largest castle in Japan. We ate the most delicious breakfast of pastries on the train and then walked out to the castle before it even opened. It was bright white and up on a huge hill.
