Tuesday, December 2, 2014. We drove out to Northern Lights Christmas Tree Farm to cut down a real, live, fresh, Oregon Christmas tree. This is such a change from the Christmas trees we've gotten in tropical Singapore for the last five years. Being at the Christmas tree farm was almost magical. We had such a great time together, enjoyed being outdoors and came home with a beautiful tree. The owners at the farm told us that Oregon exports the most Christmas trees in the world. So, on our way to DC (to do our immigration paperwork and visit some family), the craigslist photographer we had booked cancelled to do a wedding. I was so stressed and trying to find a last minute replacement but everyone I contacted was too busy, too expensive, not willing to provide digital copies of the prints etc. Oh, the place we were already planning to be that day. SWEEEET! Plus she was great, and so talented! Tender mercy for sure.

Eid is the feast of the sacrifice, a celebration of when Abraham didn't have to sacrifice his son, so naturally, ram is on the menu and we saw a LOT of sheep headed for feasts on our trip to RAK! We also saw a lot more camels than on our trip to Abu Dhabi, but we couldn't get any decent pictures!
