Honeymoon Days Part III – Napoli and Pompeii. May 17, 2015. May 17, 2015. Have had a problem with giggles when we saw certain items. Apparently we are not as mature as we thought. We went to a pizza place that night so we could compare Napoli pizza to Roman pizza. (Our verdict is that Roman pizza is better.). This is the view across the city forum. We also got to see many of the plasters that were made from the victims of the disaster. We miss our little Italian life. It was so much more relaxed than...

There’s No Place Like Home | A Stationary Nomad

There’s No Place Like Home. August 18, 2015. August 18, 2015. I find myself longing for a house. Not a large, McMansion (there’s no WAY I would ever keep one of those clean), but an adorable little cottage sized house. With a porch. And a back patio. And I would like it to have a fenced in yard. Why the sudden urge? And, let me tell you, Paxton would have a heyday if we got him a yard! He would be absolutely terrified of it for a few minutes (maybe an hour or so) and then he would go wild.

16 weeks | A Stationary Nomad

August 6, 2015. I said that I wasn’t sure that I was going to do this type of post, but I figure I would do one occasionally so that I could better keep up with how things are going. (I copied this from a friend.). I am 16 weeks and 2 days. The baby is about 3.5 oz and 4.6 inches, about the size of a avocado. Almost exclusively. Most of my regular clothes got too small or uncomfortable pretty quickly. Almost everything I own (including the maternity clothes) is uncomfortable. None Probably too soon.

February | 2014 | A Stationary Nomad
https://astationarynomad.wordpress.com/2014/02
February 22, 2014. May 8, 2015. I’m at home sick today. Actually, I came home around lunch time. I work in a place where that treats immunocompromised people, so they don’t like you to be there when you’re sick (not that I can blame them). So I decided to work on a blog post for y’all on my adventures in baking. Here’s the deal. I. Alternatives to my addiction. A few weeks ago I decided to try a recipe that I saw on Pinterest. It was for black bean brownies. 8221; questions. People were amazed. So this i...

The Happenings – April and May edition. March 29, 2015. May 9, 2015. I thought I would give you a little something to look at as I catch up with you. May marked the return of the annual Memphis in May festival. It is a month long festival which opens the first weekend in May with the Beale Street Music Festival (BSMF). I have heard that the festival usually gets awful weather, but last year was just beautiful. We bought tickets for all three days and had a blast. We did get to see Snoop Dogg (Lion? This ...

March Happiness Project – Contemplate the Heavens. March 7, 2014. Note: I’ll do a February recap at another time…. So, it’s now March. Crazy, huh? Time for a new month’s goals. (I am aware that I am a week late getting to this post. Please forgive me, dear reader.). Rubin listed the following objectives for “Contemplate the Heavens:”. Read Memoirs of Catastrophe. Keep a Gratitude Book. Imitate a Spiritual Master. Read the Daily Bible Readings. I have a copy of the Orthodox Study Bible. This can be a rath...
