Around the World (And Back Again)

Around the World (And Back Again). Friday, September 07, 2012. This week's excitement is that I made fresh Mozzarella for a Caprese salad. Making Mozzarella isn't hard.I needed to buy three things I didn't have around the house: Citric Acid, Rennet, and a food thermometer (the candy thermometer I own starts at 120F.for cheese you need to know when the milk reaches 50F). I purchased my supplies at The New England Cheese Making Supply Company. What do you think? These are our two weaknesses at the cheese c...

Around the World (And Back Again): New York, New York!

http://daveandmelissa.blogspot.com/2011/02/new-york-new-york.html

Around the World (And Back Again). Friday, February 25, 2011. New York, New York! I spent the last few days up in New York on business, but managed to take a few hours to play. My brilliant friend Liz managed to get us reservations at Per. After 2 amuse- bouche. 2 starters, 2 fish courses, 2 meat courses, 1 cheese course, and 2 desserts, we were shocked when a the waiters bombarded our table with a final flourish of sugar:. I managed to read the book. Of course any Broadway show wouldn't be complete with...

Around the World (And Back Again): My Abstract Tree

http://daveandmelissa.blogspot.com/2012/08/my-abstract-tree.html

Around the World (And Back Again). Friday, August 31, 2012. I snagged a great Groupon a few weeks back for a place called Sip n' Paint Virginia. I got look at their classes, and selected one that had a project I would enjoy hanging on the wall if it actually turned out well. I was very skeptical about my ability to produce a nice final product (I stopped taking art classes in middle school), but for $15 I thought it couldn't hurt. Here's my palate all ready to go:. The class was so wonderful! Just click ...

Around the World (And Back Again). Monday, October 25, 2010. History, History, and Halloween. I've been meaning to make a few blog posts.but now that I've finally sat down long enough, we'll do three postings in one! First up, Halloween! Dave and I spent this afternoon searching for the perfect carving pumpkins. I give you Dave's amazing cannibal pumpkin:. Here I am with my pumpkin:. There were LOTS of dogs on Duke of Glouchester street. We saw this guy walking around and just HAD to get a photo:. The we...

Around the World (And Back Again): Pinterest and Organization

http://daveandmelissa.blogspot.com/2012/08/pinterest-and-organization.html

Around the World (And Back Again). Sunday, August 26, 2012. Confession: my house has taken over. I'm ready to reengage the enemy and win the war! Dave and I moved into our 'new' place last October. We did a lot of work the first two weeks we were here, but after that we both went back to work and progress came to a screeching stop. Ever since then we've been trying to undo the messes we later made trying to 'stash' away things that were never properly unpacked and organized. My Tiffany Blue Makeup Board.

http://daveandmelissa.blogspot.com/2011/06/birthday-weekend-in-charlottesville.html

Around the World (And Back Again). Wednesday, June 01, 2011. Birthday Weekend in Charlottesville. I'm actually posting something on our blog for a change. Dave and I escaped DC and Rolling Thunder by heading out to Charlottesville. VA with our friends Laura and Kathleen. My sister-in-law was awesome and let us borrow her convertible:. We couldn't go to Virginia wine country without visiting several tasting rooms at the local vineyards. Dave and Laura seemed to enjoy this part of the trip:. Pregnant woman...

Snap Judgments for the Undeserving. Thursday, June 30, 2005. Retreat to the alps! Bridget and I decided that it was just too darned hot. In France. and since we're likely to experience much worse in Italy, we decided to escape the heat for a week or so by going up up up! So here is our first stop of Annecy, a lovely little town in the foothills of the French Alps. Here's the Idyllic veiw down onto the Old Town, from the Hotel du Chateaux, where we stayed. Me, in front of the fabulous Lac d'Annecy. Lyon i...

The land of free internet, movies, and pizza! Now that I think about it, that's probably not the universal Polish experience, but it is if you are lucky enough to stay with Lissa. It's nice to have a little island of americanism before what I'm sure will be an interesting tour of Eastern Europe. Bridget and I finis...

Snap Judgments for the Undeserving. Friday, December 24, 2004. I hope that everyone is tracking Santa. Like good little boys and girls. The NORAD website is amazing . my favorite part is the illicit pictures of Santa:. My knowledge of this amazing government service is due to Inoui, who hails (mostly) from Colorado. Posted by Anna at 12/24/2004 10:53:00 AM. Would you like some more? And took this fistful of equal from her apron and put it at my place setting. Posted by Anna at 12/24/2004 10:25:00 AM.

Snap Judgments for the Undeserving. Monday, May 30, 2005. In an effort to see more of the neighborhood that I'm staying in (read: because Lissa is brilliant, and suggested it) I visited the Summer Palace of King Jan III Sobieski, which was origionally built in 1677, but has been changed (and destroyed and rebuilt) a lot since then. Huge red arrow attacks Wilanow Palace! A much better view of The Palace:. Me, in the sunny gardens of Wilanow. Posted by Anna at 5/30/2005 05:41:00 PM. Saturday, May 28, 2005.

Snap Judgments for the Undeserving. Thursday, October 28, 2004. There's something about the library. That makes the plants here go nuts! As part of my esteemed position as Access Services Supervisor (yes, I know the acronym is ASS, but thanks for mentioning it) I am the self-appointed horticulturalist for the Science Library (Read: I water the plants! Sometimes, I even re-pot them! Over the past year I’ve noticed something very disturbing about the plants here in the library, they are growing. Which desc...

Snap Judgments for the Undeserving. Monday, February 28, 2005. I know you've all been vaguely worried about this, probably for years. But never fear, I have discovered what to do with your old books. Once we reach that beautiful day when everything is on the Internet:. Make them into furniture! Hey, it's better than burning. Posted by Anna at 2/28/2005 01:33:00 PM. Thursday, February 24, 2005. Smile & Be Happy

Smile and Be Happy. Friday, July 23, 2010. Saturday, September 12, 2009. Fall is by far my favorite season. Nothing can compare. Don't get me wrong, the other seasons have their place it's just that Fall is such a beautiful time of year. It represents crispy weather, family gatherings, and the start of a wonderful succession of favorite holidays, beginning with my birthday. On the way home, we drove past my favorite fruit stand, which is now open for business. Driving home with an overflowing bag of ...

Phillips Family

Sunday, December 30, 2012. Family Fun at Jungle Jims! These two cuties have so much fun together! I love Benson's smile! Friday, December 28, 2012. We had a great Christmas! We woke up early and discovered that Santa had been to our house and that our elf, Timothy, had gone with Santa back to the North Pole. We then went to spend time with our families. Benson was in truck heaven and Allison loved the jammies Labu Phillips made and the Sleeping Beauty dress from the Spongberg's. The Rest of October.

Well, that's how life is." -Sadie. Tuesday, August 11, 2015. We have a family tradition where we watch old family movies featuring the birth and first several years of that person's life. It is one of my favorite things to do. We laughed and laughed watching Nate tell this story with so much enthusiasm! Links to this post. Sunday, July 19, 2015. Thursday, August 14, 2014. Moving forward with The Lord. This last month has been so crazy. But I'm thankful for God, and all the lessons He gives. He has been reminding me that He has grace for me everyday. We had a very busy July and first week of August. Our kids were spread out between Columbia Falls, MT and Colorado. We are all home now. It feels very good to try and get back to normal. My grandpa and grandma will be here next week for a few days. That makes me super happy! Wednesday, July 23, 2014.
