Haphazard Ruminations and Photographs. Friday, January 7, 2011. October 15-29, 2010. In October of 2010 I made a very quick pass through 7 cities in China. I started in Hong Kong and then moved on to Qingdao, Tianjin, Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou and Hangzhou (the last two were day trips from Shanghai.) Five of the cities I visited I had been to before and yet I was able to see new places in each one. The next stop was Qingdao. The next 24 hours was in Tianjin. We drove to Beijing, but the fog was so thick.

Dan was honored by being asked to be apart of a special team of professions to discuss inclusion and education by all through UNESCO. http:/ www.unesco.org. These pictures are in no particular order. I took about 700 (ha! On our trip.so it was hard to scale down for the blog. Warning- there are a lot :) Enjoy! The stain-glassed windows were amazing! The sculptures and detail on this church was absolutely amazing!

Thursday, July 14, 2011. Hopping into the kayak in Lake Union. On the water with Seattle behind us. Approaching the Ballard Locks. Inside the locks. Leaving Lake Union (water goes down) and entering the Puget Sound. I was nervous about this part, but it was easy and super fun. We just held onto the tie up buttons on the wall as the water went down. Locks opening up into Puget Sound. A rainbow even came out! 25 hour trip on the water. What an amazing trip!
