Dave's Seminar in Germany

Dave's Seminar in Germany. Sunday, June 28, 2009. I've been asked to comment on my most interesting or important moment of my trip to Germany, or what did I find surprising or most interesting? As an undergraduate at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, I wrote a paper about the building of the Wall in 1961. I read old Time Magazines. And a few issues of Der Spiegel. It wasn't much of a paper, but I like to think that the paper helped define my most significant moment in Germany. Saturday, June 20, 2009.

Dave's Seminar in Germany: Rainy Berlin

http://www.davegermany.blogspot.com/2009/06/rainy-berlin.html

Dave's Seminar in Germany. Sunday, June 7, 2009. It's a little rainy here today in Berlin. Big cities have a tendency to look even more dreary in the rain. I think it is all the wet concrete. The 2009 Fulbright German Studies Seminar meets for the first time. I had dinner with two of the other participants last evening. Their German is much better than mine. Today we have an introductory meeting followed by a buffet dinner. We start the seminar in earnest tomorrow. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Dave's Seminar in Germany. Wednesday, June 10, 2009. Do German Parties Have a Right to Exist? There seems to be a problem with the decline of the average German voter's interest in his or her political parties. The common question so far in the seminar has been, "What can we do to bring the parties to the forefront again? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Let the Reflecting Begin. Thursday, January 27, 2011. A Spoonful of Sugar. I don't know about everyone else, but the act of getting McKenzie to take medicine is a big issue. McKenzie does not like the taste of medicine and it can sometimes take 30 minutes to get her to take her medicine. The song was right - "a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down! Thursday, September 13, 2007. I figured since I gave Mandi the idea to create a blog to keep everyone informed on what was going on at college, I should do the same thing with what is going on with James, McKenzie and I. Most posts will be about McKenzie, but that is what I think people want to read about. Another semester is off and running. James is back to the recruiting thing and I am busy with all the students we already have here at WT. Hope all is going well with everyone, more to come later.

Sunday, September 28, 2008. It's hard to believe the McKenzie is 2 years olds. At times, she seems like she is much older. She is amazing us everyday. When she watches her favorite shows and the characters are sad, she will look at us and give a sad face, she looks like she is about to cry. Along with her growing up, she likes to ask the question why? She will ask us what we are doing and then ask why? I know this is just part of the growing up process. At the fair we got free hot dogs and drinks. Mc...
