BS Bio/Chem, College of Idaho. PhD Biology, Johns Hopkins. February 2, 2013. It’s been a while! Since my last post, and a lot has been going on. The Holiday season was busy this year with work, travel, and writing a Ph.D. thesis. One thing I didn’t get to do as much of as I would like is photography…although I was still able to sneak in a bit. =] Here is a quick review of the highlights from the past few months. Anderson. Wednesday, March 21, 2007. Well, I was inspired by Arzhang's post that was inspired by Mike's post. I'm in Atlanta now - for the NCTM conference. Before today was the research Pre-session. I like attending things like this because they take me out of my own little bubble. They make me reconnect with the ideas and passions that inspired me to teach in the first place. So, there is what is going on in my life. Oh, and if you haven't read "The World is Flat" you HAVE to read it. Seriously. We Bought a House!

Sunday, January 30, 2005. Since I have lived in New York and become a teacher here, I have cycled through various campaigns of thought on the ever-present state tests that are constantly being adminstered here. In Idaho, I never really knew the full impact of the "No Child Left Behind Act" and the standardization movement. The amount of micromanagement and legislative acts regarding education in Idaho is miniscule in comparison to the East coast. This is where the problem occurs. Monday, January 24, 2005.

Saturday, July 31, 2004. Grocery Day, NYC style. I'm slowly becoming a lazy New Yorker. This week, after much convincing by my classmates and the ads in the subway, I decided to order my groceries online. The last time that I did grocery shopping, the fruit was old, the cheese was molded, and I was fed up. A friend told me that if you order from Fresh Direct. However, if I start paying for other people to do my laundry, I won't be able to look myself in the eye anymore. That's too far. As soon as we got ...

Tuesday, October 26, 2004. I have decided that I never have enough time. I was debating whether this is just a fact of life, and actually nobody ever has as much time as they would like to get everything done that they would hope to, or whether it is something about my particular situation.
