Dave Ivey - Portfolio of Works: Other Works
http://daveivey.com/collections/73594
The majority of the pieces I paint are landscapes but I do enjoy painting horses, cows, chickens and even people as a creative diversion. I've included a few of them here along with some my earlier landscapes. 12 x 9 - On Hold. 18 x 24 - Through Gallery. 12 x 16 - Sold. 16 x 20 - Available. 36 x 48 - Sold. 18 x 24 - Through Gallery. 16 x 20 - Sold. 12 x 24 - Through Gallery. 10 x 29 - Sold. 24 x 30 - Sold. 24 x 48 - Sold. 25 x 30 - Sold. 15 x 30 - Sold. 85 x 20 - Sold. 20 x 16 - Sold. 625 x 15.5.
Dave Ivey - About the Artist
http://daveivey.com/about
Painting Memories as Well as Observations . Louisiana artist Dave Ivey paints atmosphere as much as he does typography because he wants viewers to be able to complete the visual narrative with their own imagination and experiences.". Plein Air Magazine, May 2016. Dave Ivey's energetic and impressionistic style of painting outdoors creates silent poems of a warm and softly lit rural landscape . . . His paintings appear between realism and illusion.". Louisiana Life, March-April 2016.
Dave Ivey - Work Zoom: The Stare
http://daveivey.com/workszoom/1816200
It was late in the day and the sun was quickly setting behind the trees. I liked the way the warm light was glowing in areas of the grass and accenting the longhorn. He was not so sure what business if any I had being there and so he stood long enough for me to make color notes. Contact the Artist About This Artwork. Signup for Updates, Latest Works and News. Cowgirls, cowboys and horses. | Dave Ivey - Blog

Cowgirls, cowboys and horses. Posted on 11/2/2011 11:46:57 AM. I love western art. I can spend hours looking at it and not get enough. It finally occurred to me why I'm drawn toward it. I am sure it is because it makes me feel like a kid again. I spent many late nights looking at the comic books of cowboy and indians and reading the stories of Zane Grey. I thought this was fun piece to create and I think I may do some more. By the way, this is a painting of my high school honey. Hope you enjoy.
Dave Ivey - Portfolio of Works: Landscapes & Plein Air
http://daveivey.com/collections/35226
Landscapes and Plein Air. Having lived in the deep south the majority of my adult life would classify me as a southerner, a country boy. The majority of my work conveys that message because I love the outdoors and paint what I know. My landscape paintings are from scenes that I visited or that may be close to my home. 290 Farm - Oil on Canvas - 12 x 16 - Available - More Info. Across The Way - Oil on Canvas - 8 x 10 - Sold - More Info. Back of The Pasture - Oil on Canvas - 9 x 12 - Available - More Info.

Mosaic: February 2010

Mosaic: Broken pieces Beautiful life. Tuesday, February 9, 2010. Hello my little blog and my bloggy friends. I have missed you so much. From the start of this year, I intended to devote time to writing about all the magical things I see in my hometown right now. But the truth is I have been weighed down with copy writing and feeling decidedly UNmagical here. So- that's the story. Today, I am homesick for Austin. For a place not where I grew up, but where I found myself. Here are the things I miss most.

Mosaic: Broken pieces Beautiful life. Wednesday, May 26, 2010. She's cool like that. Evan, I'm right here. She still brings her younger brothers and sister along with her everywhere, and she still reminds them that she is right here- beside them- no matter what. They spend their days truly in awe of her. She always seems to dazzle them with whatever play she has in mind for the day's game. May 26, 2010 at 4:03 PM. May 26, 2010 at 5:07 PM. May 26, 2010 at 5:37 PM. May 27, 2010 at 6:55 AM. http://todayistheadventure.blogspot.com/2010/12/mag-46.html
Mosaic: Broken pieces Beautiful life. Tuesday, December 21, 2010. When I was a child. I would run my fingers. Over embossed pictures of you. In your mother's lap. If I could sit in yours. I would slide my creamy hand. Around your olive neck. And hold tight,. Burying my shame in your shoulder. And we would weep together. Over the loss of my innocence. And the unfairness of life. I am older now. But not quite grown. And I still long. For the intimacy of your embrace. Because even the joy of life is too much.

http://todayistheadventure.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Mosaic: Broken pieces Beautiful life. Saturday, June 19, 2010. Maybe pruning is too kind a word. And the crucial circumcision. Burns the wounds laid open. So I stare down into empty hands. And agonize at how life came. Is it the green bud. Or the phantom itch of hope. If the tender rain is a gift for the unjust. Come to me healer. The song of life resurrected. Cut the bonds cinched tight. And beckon me to take up the bed. To the place where laughter. Dances on my tongue. Warms in your perfect light.

http://todayistheadventure.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Mosaic: Broken pieces Beautiful life. Monday, November 30, 2009. I never write poetry. But I am feeling a little sorrowful tonight, and rather than carry on, I wrote this:. Belonging to you is like drowning. Gasping for the air of your approval. The sunshine of your love. And tasting mostly brine. In your own way, you try to save me. Though all of your affections are weighted. By conditions and excuses. Struggling toward the shore,. I imagine a life without you. But I am sucked down by pity. Take a Look-...

Mosaic: Broken pieces Beautiful life. Saturday, December 12, 2009. Honors and Benefits- Already at the Age of . . . Oh, Nevermind. Thanks for the award, Melinda. I wish I had something clever to say, but sadly, no. I have been sitting on this for a little while because I am relatively new to Bloggyland, and I don't know five bloggers on which to bestow this award. Be that as it may, I will pass it along where I can :). 1 Where is your cell phone? 5 Your favorite food? 6 Your dream last night? Things That...

Mosaic: Magpie #16
http://todayistheadventure.blogspot.com/2010/05/magpie-16.html
Mosaic: Broken pieces Beautiful life. Thursday, May 27, 2010. What is the sound of your trial by fire. Is it the soft unlatching of sandals. For the sake of holy ground. Only to walk the coals. On the last of your faith. Is it the escaped groan. Of watching your dream slip. The long, slow fall. Like broken glass under bare feet. Is it the mother's staccato lament. Planting the son of promise. Into the eager earth. Perhaps it is the trickle of a briny bath. While hope walks away. Like a fickle lover.

Mosaic: Insanity
http://todayistheadventure.blogspot.com/2010/06/insanity.html
Mosaic: Broken pieces Beautiful life. Friday, June 4, 2010. Many times have I walked your shore. For my questioning soul. Every thought woven into the rhythmic. Of the compassionate undertow. Blurring the line between focus. But hot verve breathes electric. As dancing eyes on flushed cheeks. And words yet unwritten. Your waves lap my toes. Drawing the unfaithful foundation. And in one measured recoil. June 4, 2010 at 2:42 PM. June 5, 2010 at 12:13 PM. June 5, 2010 at 7:54 PM. June 5, 2010 at 8:00 PM.
