Pass the Zaki Sauce: Puppy Update! (PUPdate??)
http://umezakisauce.blogspot.com/2014/12/puppy-update-pupdate.html
Wednesday, December 17, 2014. Remember when those puppies looked like this? Yeah, they're named after different colors for now). After 4 weeks, they looked like this. And as of yesterday, they had their first outdoor adventure. I should note that I haven't met the puppies yet. All of these pictures were taken and shared by their caretaker (momma dog's owner) and fortunately, she's a prolific and excellent photographer. I cannot get enough of these puppies. Pass the Zaki Sauce: July 2012
http://umezakisauce.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 04, 2012. Not in Kansas Anymore. I started my new job on Monday. It is very different from my old job. But, here is the wonderful thing: it's still working towards the same goal and vision of opportunities for great education for all children. As I meet the team, learn more about my responsibilities, and attend meetings I am finding myself so energized and confident that I made the right choice. It feels good. And Happy Fourth everyone! Pass the Zaki Sauce: Last Month, Tonight.
http://umezakisauce.blogspot.com/2014/12/last-month-tonight.html
Monday, December 15, 2014. Last Month, Tonight. I'm so out of practice with this blog thing. Here's a quick recap of the last month. When we left off, I was in LA doing work during the day and spending quality time with my parents at night. We even made a trip to Las Vegas over the weekend for a mini-vacation and to take advantage of a free room with a Las Vegas-y view. And 56 minutes later we had a delicious spread. Got older and baked a lot. Clockwise from left: glazed lemon cookies, sweet and spicy nu...

Pass the Zaki Sauce: June 2013
http://umezakisauce.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 16, 2013. Because it deserves its own post, I'm double-posting today. I want to wish a Happy Father's Day to all of the fathers in my life. Of course, first and foremost to my own father who taught me about love, compassion, generosity, loyalty, and the importance of family. To this day, there is no one who's advice and wisdom I value more. Thank you, dad. To my father-in-law, who has known me for going on half my lifetime now and who has made me feel like part of his family from the get-go.

Pass the Zaki Sauce: May 2013

Friday, May 31, 2013. The Move (Part 1). It has been an eventful week but we are emerging from the other end of it as Minnesotans. It was a pretty bumpy ride though (literally and figuratively). Through this move I learned quite a few things:. 1) Always check your flight information as soon as you get to the airport. By the time he arrived at his gate, he learned that the flight was delayed an hour and a half and that they had been calling him to board an earlier flight direct to DC. Of the padlock.b...

This has been a pretty big year for us: new city, new house, new jobs.and while we have weathered lots of storms (mostly the meteorological kind) in the last 7 years, I have known so much love and happiness with this husband of mine. Happy 7th Anniversary, Man Boo. Monday, May 26, 2014. This cowl.(which Man Boo so kindly modeled). This kid-sized hat to donate to Kiki's Hats. And this cat toy that is already pretty well-loved. Basically, it was a bu...

Pass the Zaki Sauce: January 2015
http://umezakisauce.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 06, 2015. This is always an exciting time of the year - full of possibility and plans for the year ahead. It's pretty unbelievable that it is already 2015. Not sure why, but it feels like a milestone of some kind. We may not have Mr.Fusion-powered, flying time machines yet, I still hope it will be a good year! And has already gotten a good handle on his first two commands. To be honest, it's probably because. It's so cold that he goes so quickly, but I'm not complaining. Two for the Road.

Pass the Zaki Sauce: Minnesotan.
http://umezakisauce.blogspot.com/2014/11/last-winter-people-assured-me-that-it.html
Tuesday, November 18, 2014. Last winter, people assured me that it was unusually cold. "The coldest winter in my lifetime! They said. "If you can make it through this, you'll be a true Minnesotan! What the eff, Minneapolis? So maybe it's been cold all over the U.S. In fact, for the first time in many decades all 50 (! States went below freezing last night. In the meantime, here is a video from yesterday of the puppies to warm your heart. They're getting so big at two weeks now! Return of the Mood Meter.

Saturday, June 30, 2012. Damn Nature, You Scary. We just had. Apparently, there was even a gust of 70mph at National Airport. Yet, by some stroke of luck, we still have power. Huzzah! Thursday, June 28, 2012. So Long DC Prep. I have been meaning to post on this for a long, long while.but life happened - as it usually does. Sorry, friends. Work Totally worth it. But exhausting nonetheless. It has been incredible. It has been a true learning experience and I know I have made life-long friends. When I turne...
