Thursday, March 17, 2005. LAW AND ITS SOURCES (Ch. 1). Nature of the law. Rule of law-applies to all people in the system including the leaders. Constitution of the US is the foundation. Enforcing standards of conduct and maintaining order. Social justice-controversial what is social justice slippery concept. Is the law over used? Are we too litigious? Means do we rely to much on lawsuits). Substantive law vs. procedural law. We will examine subsequent issues in future chapters based on this distinction.
