History of Davenport Oklahoma. Davenport was incorporated as a town in 1906 and was named after the postmaster, Nettie Davenport. Davenport OK, Aug 31, 1910. The Oklahoma National Guard had marched overland from Chandler. To Davenport on this day and were awaiting the arrival of the. Northbound Santa Fe train to go to their summer training camp at. Fort Riley, Kan. While in Davenport they marched and performed. For the local citizens and erected a flag pole in the middle of Broadway.

Miss Oklahoma 2011 and Miss America 2012 Runner-Up! The City of Davenport is extremely proud to be the hometown of Miss Oklahoma 2011 Betty Thompson. Thompson grew up on a dairy farm southwest of Kendrick and graduated from Davenport High School in 2007. She is a Senior Elementary Eduation Major at Oklahoma State University. She was named Miss OSU in 2008 and followed that up with a win at the Miss Oklahoma pageant in June 2011.
