Frankly, I’ve been feeling down in the dumps for the last couple weeks. I’ve gotten away from my regular bike rides and haven’t exercised much at all. Let’s not even talk about what I’ve been eating since the Miami trip. Something has to give…I feel “meh”. I feel better now. Unloaded at the train station in Center Point. Midge doesn't really like riding on the back of the car, but she had to today. Not a fan of tunnels. Just saying. Momma cow taking her babies out for an afternoon stroll. May 20, 2012.

And this is what it sounded like on the way back. Can you hear me clicking into the pedals? Yeah, I got that down now (oh yeah! Now that I’m done crying about the wind, I do have to say it was good to get out and put in a decent 30 mile ride. It’s been a while since I’ve done that. We’re now, more than ever, ready for a summer full of riding…. Debris from the flash flooding last week. It's like a beaver's paradise. Closer shot of all the junk washed down the creek. Ducks on Cedar Lake. Not Mallards.

Wickiup in the Morning. Not much time to ride this weekend, so I snuck out Saturday morning right after sunrise and took a trip to Wickiup Hill. The round trip was less than 20 miles. The sun was shining. The birds were singing. I was smiling. The short and winding road that leads to Wickiup Hill. Slightly overcast and chilly, but great morning for a ride. Another hidden gem just outside Cedar Rapids. Some ask why Midge has a kickstand. So I can do this! Left over cattails from last year. May 4, 2014.

Monkey Mirrors and a New Point of View. After many years of using the Bike Peddler. Rear view mirror, I switch to the Monkey Mirror. Nothing against the Bike Peddler, but with my new helmet not having a visor and not wanting to put a mirror on my sunglasses, I needed a change. It fits snug on my helmet and did not move one bit once it was in place. Spoke wire from helmet to mirror allows me to make any adjustments I want. Great name. Great logo. My new monkey mirror. Makes me look a little paranoid.
