Steve Jones is a Northwest native, resident in the Seattle area for the last 27 years. Though classically trained, Steve has always had jazz in his life, playing alto and tenor saxophone in college, and later studying jazz piano with Seattle’s own Dave Peck. Favorite piano players are Chick Corea, Keith Jarrett, Herbie Hancock, Benny Green, George Cables and Dave Peck. Bassist Performance Instruction Electric and Upright. Boise Music Lessons: Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums. My formal education was received at Montana State University and Cornish College of the Arts. In Seattle WA majoring in Jazz performance. Additionally, I studied privately with Jerome Gray, Chuck Deardorf. Instruments are: Upright bass, Electric 4,5,6,& 7 string basses, fretless as well. I perform as a soloist, using two part inventions, in fusion-jazz-classical idioms.
