Dave's Gaming Place: 10mm Confederate artillery and cavalry
http://davesgamingplace.blogspot.com/2015/06/10mm-confederate-artillery-and-cavalry.html
A place where I keep track of my modelling progress and display my gaming stuff. Saturday, June 13, 2015. 10mm Confederate artillery and cavalry. Here are the remaining elements for the Confederate order of battle for Pea Ridge using Altar of Freedom. Two cavalry, four artillery and a general - in this case Johnston standing in for Van Dorn. Nice figs - all Pendraken, I'm really impressed with them. Starting to make me wonder about doing more 10mm - it is such a nice compromise between mass and detail.
Dave's Gaming Place: Yankees in 10mm
http://davesgamingplace.blogspot.com/2015/06/yankees-in-10mm.html
A place where I keep track of my modelling progress and display my gaming stuff. Sunday, June 21, 2015. And here are the Union forces for Pea Ridge - 7 brigades of infantry, 2 of cavalry, 4 artillery stands and two commanders. 10mm figures are mostly Pendraken with some Old Glory strips making up the back ranks of the infantry stands. Union troops are by the far the easiest force to paint I have yet encountered. June 21, 2015 at 12:25 PM. Cracking looking little force - very nice :). WHFB and Kings of War.
Dave's Gaming Place: April 2015
http://davesgamingplace.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
A place where I keep track of my modelling progress and display my gaming stuff. Sunday, April 26, 2015. 1/72 Napoleonics and Red Devils. Feeling a bit unfocussed recently, so been doing a bit of this and a bit of that. Here we have a box of Hat Napoleonic French light infantry, which are needed for the ongoing Waterloo project:. And a few Italeri British airborne. Sculpts are okay but Esci sculpted some goofy poses. Thursday, April 9, 2015. Early medievals and the rebasing conundrum. 1/72: 70 foot, 12 v...
Dave's Gaming Place: February 2015
http://davesgamingplace.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
A place where I keep track of my modelling progress and display my gaming stuff. Saturday, February 28, 2015. Walk like a New Kingdom Egyptian. I've had this Old Glory 15mm NKE DBA army sitting in a box forever, so I decided to paint it up for my MayDay tournament entry. Unfortunately, it turns out that holidays plans conflict with MayDay - so all for naught. Except of course, I now have another army to play with. Monday, February 23, 2015. Russian Grenadiers in Greatcoats. Tuesday, February 17, 2015.
Dave's Gaming Place: "Hanoverian" Napoleonics and the best-ever-tin
http://davesgamingplace.blogspot.com/2015/05/hanoverian-napoleonics-and-best-ever-tin.html
A place where I keep track of my modelling progress and display my gaming stuff. Friday, May 15, 2015. Hanoverian" Napoleonics and the best-ever-tin. Apologies for being out of touch for a while, the family and I spent 10 days in Florida building beach fortifications:. Finally, the missus found the World's Best Tin Box at a garage sale down the street - it rocks! May 16, 2015 at 1:31 AM. Well done with this Nap unit! May 18, 2015 at 5:18 PM. Ive had the smaller cans, but not one this size. Good find!

Bob's Miniature Wargaming Blog: August 4 Club Night
http://edmontonwargamer.blogspot.com/2015/08/august-4-club-night.html
Bob's Miniature Wargaming Blog. Miniature wargaming in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Wednesday, August 5, 2015. August 4 Club Night. We had 15 guys out last night and actually ran short of games! I hosted a game of Memoir '40, presenting the Battle of Hannut-Merdorp (May 13, 1940). We were able to play this scenario twice, with the wiley Germans winning both times. The French could not get a card or a die roll to save their souls. There were lots of other games going. Jonathan and Scott played some Impetus.
Bob's Miniature Wargaming Blog: British 8th Army
http://edmontonwargamer.blogspot.com/2015/05/british-8th-army.html
Bob's Miniature Wargaming Blog. Miniature wargaming in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Sunday, May 17, 2015. Terry's crawlspace yielded up a couple of boxes of British 8th Army troops. Some are Esci soft plastic and some are a harder plastic set. There are also a few Matchbox guys thrown in. All told, there are 63 of these guys- 36 based in fours and the rest as singles. In retrospect, I think using the Airfix bBitish army figures would have been a lot less work! May 17, 2015 at 6:42 AM. May 18, 2015 at 12:16...
Bob's Miniature Wargaming Blog: 1/72 tanks and 54mm casualties
http://edmontonwargamer.blogspot.com/2015/07/172-tanks-and-54mm-casualties.html
Bob's Miniature Wargaming Blog. Miniature wargaming in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Friday, July 31, 2015. 1/72 tanks and 54mm casualties. I'm presently working on moving the remains of projects to completion. Today I have a pair of WW2 tanks and some AWI casualties finished. The Tiger is an Airfix kit. A bit small and basic but a nice model painted up for the western desert or, perhaps, Italy. Below is a Hasegawa Crusader III. Also a nice model and one I haven't built before. 1/72 tanks and 54mm casualties.

http://edmontonwargamer.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Bob's Miniature Wargaming Blog. Miniature wargaming in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Saturday, November 29, 2014. Few items for sale. I have few items for sale. These include painted 15mm French. Armies for the FPW. I also have a painted 28mm Arthurian warband. Up next: I had to ship off some 15mm WW2 without taking photos this week. I'm presently working on some 54mm AWI foot. There is another 15mm WW2 army sitting on the shelf awaiting attention. And the club is Tuesday. Thursday, November 27, 2014. Below...
Bob's Miniature Wargaming Blog: December 2014
http://edmontonwargamer.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Bob's Miniature Wargaming Blog. Miniature wargaming in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Wednesday, December 31, 2014. CCA and Red November. Bruce swung by today for some gaming. I hauled out Clusium (225BC), which is the first scenario from the Rome and the Barbarians CCA expansion. I think I ran a big battle version of this at the club last year. You can fix stuff (and you do better if you drink grog. but then you character is drunk) but the opportunity cost makes it a close run game. Below you can se...Up ne...
Bob's Miniature Wargaming Blog: 1/72-scale British 25 pounder
http://edmontonwargamer.blogspot.com/2015/07/172-scale-british-25-pounder.html
Bob's Miniature Wargaming Blog. Miniature wargaming in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Saturday, July 25, 2015. 1/72-scale British 25 pounder. I finished off a British artillery piece this week. This is old Esci kit from Terry's crawlspace. Not a bad kit- only a couple of fiddly things I did away with (complex support struts to put carriage on turn table). Love the fact that it has a crew. I also feel like I'm getting a handle on the yellowing issue I was experiencing with my new camera. July 21 club night.
Bob's Miniature Wargaming Blog: July 21 club night

Bob's Miniature Wargaming Blog. Miniature wargaming in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Wednesday, July 22, 2015. July 21 club night. We had 11 guys out at the club last night including newcomer Ian. Dave brought out his recently competed 10mm ACW troops and hosted Phil and Guy in a game, the name of which I can't recall. It certainly looked pretty. Scott and Jonathan played a game of the new Commands and Colours WW1 (which I did not get a picture of). And more zombies (I'm the guy on the right, below). The AC...
Bob's Miniature Wargaming Blog: March 2015
http://edmontonwargamer.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Bob's Miniature Wargaming Blog. Miniature wargaming in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Power Legion: Phone Booth FUBAR. In the SE corner, Harley Quinn decided to toss a grenade in the phone booth. But missed and, of course, KOed herself. The goon must have been rattled because he proved completely incapable of busting the phone booth up for the rest of the game. Back at the north end of the board, Batman swung forward on a Batrope and found himself mixing it up with three goons while ...
Bob's Miniature Wargaming Blog: New tutorial on painting 1/72-scale armour
http://edmontonwargamer.blogspot.com/2015/07/new-tutorial-on-painting-172-scale.html
Bob's Miniature Wargaming Blog. Miniature wargaming in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Tuesday, July 28, 2015. New tutorial on painting 1/72-scale armour. I sometimes get emailed questions from newcomers to the hobby looking for painting advice. What I have to offer is not museum quality painting, but rather quick paint techniques. A few months back I posted a tutorial on quick-painting tanks using washes. Over a white primer. Over a black primmer. You can see that tutorial by clicking on the link. Making a M...
