My World In Pictures

Thursday, March 22, 2018. 6 October 2017 New Geocache Hides. Our flight home arrived in early afternoon leaving us time to visit North Chagrin. We were planning to place a new cache and hide a new multi to replace one we archived while CMP was doing trail work. Our walk on the trail brought home the message fall was here and soon the cold reality of winter would arrive. The board walk is a new addition from the recent work. Tuesday, March 20, 2018. We also spotted this pool, which had FROGS! Our next sto...

My World In Pictures: 25 July 2010 The Journey Home

http://davesnaps.blogspot.com/2010/09/25-july-2010-journey-home-stopping-at.html

Monday, September 13, 2010. 25 July 2010 The Journey Home. Stopping at the Reading Pagoda is always an anticipated visit. For me, it's a place to climb around and play. For Ali, the memories go back to her youth. This was a regular stop for hill climb racing. Her dad raced at many of the local hill climbs. It must have been quite a treat to be a child with this for a play area at race time. We were both happy to stop by for a visit. Our last stop on the way home was for a visit to Meyer's. Over 50 ,000.

My World In Pictures: 15 February 2013 Big Muskie

http://davesnaps.blogspot.com/2013/05/15-february-2013-big-muskie.html

Friday, May 03, 2013. 15 February 2013 Big Muskie. The image below is in the kiosk at the park. Wow, it was huge. The countryside in this area was forever altered by coal mining. This machine was a big part of that history. The steps leading into the scoop give a great idea of the size. The overlook beyond Big Muskie shows the land where the big scoop roamed. The area has been forever altered by Big Muskie. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). 20 August 2011 Watkins Glen. Over 50 ,000. 20 April 2016 Iller...

Monday, July 27, 2015. 19 April 2015 Return to Cotton Wood Hollow. We returned to Cotton Wood Hollow this afternoon to avenge an earlier geocaching DNF and to hopefully spot the spring wildflowers which were still tucked under snow on our last visit. The wildflowers delivered with a good variety and we were able to spot the cache which we missed on our last visit. Saturday, July 25, 2015. 18 April 2015 Peepers. My World In Pictures: 11 April 2015 State Game Lands 167

http://davesnaps.blogspot.com/2015/07/11-april-2015-state-game-lands-167.html

Wednesday, July 08, 2015. 11 April 2015 State Game Lands 167. We enjoyed a spring walk with no snow and early spring wildflowers. We also enjoyed a fun series of puzzle caches on our walk. There will be fewer and fewer people in very short time who will understand the significance of this sign. Cell communications have begun to minimize the perceived value of land lines, but this was an interesting landmark of technical innovation. It was an unexpected find on a walk in the woods. Over 50 ,000. It was a ...

World of Waymarking: May 2009

http://worldofwaymarking.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html

Wednesday, May 20, 2009. Ong-Gwe-Ohn-Weh - Dunkirk, NY. Was one of 70 created as tributes to Native Americans by Akron, Ohio artist Peter Toth. At one time there was one in each state and each providence. Six appear to be gone and three more are in storage. This one was created in 1973 and appears to be out year-round, but is heavily wrapped to protect it from the harsh Western New York winters. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Sunday, August 8, 2010. A friend Waymarked this while visiting from Canada during the ASP Geobash. We were out searching for EMGT caches and stopped by for a visit. The church. Is very nicely done. While we were there, the lady who lives at the house was out mowing and gave us a very enthusiastic wave. Make certain to sign the guest book. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Saturday, April 25, 2009. Barcelona Lighthouse and Keeper's Cottage. This lighthouse is the oldest remaining lighthouse on Lake Erie. It has been closed for over 150 years. At the time of its construction, it was the first public building in the US to be lighted with gas. I've been here on glorious, sunny days. When you go to hide a cache, think of the reason you are bringing people to that spot. If the only reason is for the cache, then find a better spot.". Saturday, May 02, 2015. I was a little surprised to spot a red Jeep travel bug in a cache recently. I thought all the Jeep travel bugs were in private collections by now. The large white Jeeps were my favorites of the series. With the overwhelming number of micro and small caches placed now, the white Jeeps would fit in very few caches. The Jeep trackables...

Bits & Pieces

Saturday, August 15, 2015. I was at O'Hare Airport waiting for a flight to Mexico and wanted a beverage for the plane. For once I was looking for something other than Coke and decided to get a bottle of Naked Orange Juice. I prefer Simply Orange to Naked which always seems a cut above Simply Orange in price but not in taste. I bought my $5 15-ounce bottle of Naked and made my way onto the plane. And the expiration date on the bottle. Labels: Somewhere in the air. Sunday, April 5, 2015. Goldenberg's Peanu...

Alligators have sensitive jaws. May 31, 2017. It’s hard to imaging an animal that is so big and covered with armored skin to be sensitive to anything. Yet the skin around the top of the snout and along the jaws is more sensitive than our finger tips. They can detect touch that is too faint for our fingers to feel. Their most sensitive areas are in the gums along their teeth. Resting and warming in the Texas sun. I Really Like to be in Southern Texas. May 8, 2017. I REALLY LIKE TO BE IN SOUTHERN TEXAS!
