Wear Your Own Shoes | Journey Towards The Unknown

https://davesohnchen.wordpress.com/2010/04/21/wear-your-own-shoes

Journey Towards The Unknown. A search for destiny in an uncertain world. Wear Your Own Shoes. Photo courtesy of iStockphoto.com/ryasick. Have you ever tried running in shoes that were too big? They’re clumsy, sloppy and quite often you end up tripping. If you were to run a race and had the choice of wearing shoes that fit your feet or wearing shoes that were one or even two sizes too big, which would choose? By davesohnchen on April 21, 2010. Journey Towards The Unknown. A search for destiny in an uncertain world. Life Between The Lines. Photo courtesy of iStockphoto.com/mamado. Preface (can blogs really have a preface or is there some sort of blog etiquette that I should be aware of? I’ve watched Stranger Than Fiction. What I’m about to write is, no doubt, nothing new or ground breaking. They’re simply thoughts that have been reinvigorated, possibly even using slightly different verbiage. Now, the post:. Is it a tragedy or comedy? Or would w...

Drawn To Redemption By The Grace In His Eyes | Leadership On Mission

https://brianrhawkins.wordpress.com/2010/03/09/drawn-to-redemption-by-the-grace-in-his-eyes

A Catalyst for Discussion. Drawn To Redemption By The Grace In His Eyes. I’ve been doing alot of thinking in the last few days. Thinking about my imperfections, my deep need for a Savior. Thinking about how amazing it is that Jesus found me. Struck by the realization that there is no way I could have ever “found” Jesus…. But He had to come find me. I have been very. This song says it all. By Brian Hawkins on March 9, 2010. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Address never made public).

It’s Cool To Hate The Church | Leadership On Mission

https://brianrhawkins.wordpress.com/2010/03/25/its-cool-to-hate-the-church

A Catalyst for Discussion. It’s Cool To Hate The Church. It bothers me that in my generation of Christ-followers, it has become cool to hate on the Bride of Christ. It has become cool to reject the Church, to abandon the Church, to slam the Church. Can I just say to every single person, who “loves Jesus but hates the Church.”. That is such a crock load of crap. Lets pretend that I’m married and somebody comes up to me and says you know what Brian…you’re cool, but I hate your wife. I AM NOT OK WITH THAT.

Revisiting Conspicious Consumption – Seth Godin | Leadership On Mission

A Catalyst for Discussion. Revisiting Conspicious Consumption – Seth Godin. I DID NOT WRITE THIS! This is a direct copy and paste from Seth Godin’s Blog (sethgodin.typepad.com). I though it was incredibly insightful and wanted to share it with you. Enjoy🙂. Revisiting Conspicious Consumption – Seth Godin. The reason you have a front lawn? In fact, the origins of the luxury goods industry lie in this desire to waste, in public. 350 years ago in France, Jean-Baptiste Colbert dreamed up the idea of besp...

The Religion of Consumerism | Leadership On Mission

https://brianrhawkins.wordpress.com/2010/04/01/religion-of-consumerism

A Catalyst for Discussion. The Religion of Consumerism. People don’t just do things anymore. Statements about themselves, about who they think they are, about who they want to be, about what they think other people want to see in them. The flipside of this coin is that we all have become experts at interpreting these statements. We see someone drive by in a brand new BMW convertible and immediately assume that this person is somewhat well off…not that they are $85,000 in debt. I mean isn’t it true ...

What Did Peter See? | Leadership On Mission

https://brianrhawkins.wordpress.com/2010/04/02/what-did-peter-see

A Catalyst for Discussion. What Did Peter See? I was challenged today by a local pastor who asked us all at a Good Friday service a simple question:. What would Peter have seen, looking into the eyes of Jesus immediately after denying him 3 times? If Jesus had been standing near by, so that Peter could have seen him….a rooster faintly crowing in the distance….what Peter have seen as the realization of what he had just done sank in, and he stared intently into the eyes of his Rabbi? Thats what I see.

The Myth of Redemptive Violence | Leadership On Mission

https://brianrhawkins.wordpress.com/2010/03/16/the-myth-of-redemptive-violence

A Catalyst for Discussion. The Myth of Redemptive Violence. Ok so first things first…I know I haven’t blogged in a week….I’ve been busy🙂. But in this past week, there has been one main topic that has been rolling around in my head…. The Myth Of Redemptive Violence. Well it basically draws into light that in modern society, there is almost an unspoken understanding that says that violence, no matter how brutal, can be justified as long as we agree morally with the reason for the violence. Because the sim...

How to sum up a 20-year copywriting/creative directing career in easy-to-digest website copy? I offer a lot of experience from B2B to consumer; technology and healthcare to sports and non-profits. My clients have ranged from Fortune 500 companies to minor league baseball teams to motor oil for truckers. I work in all media digital, TV, print, collateral. But no matter what, it comes down to developing intelligent ideas and a unique voice that bring brand experiences to life.
