Vanderhoof, geographic center of BC. Our pull throughs handle up to 65 ft. The finest I've found in 10 years. Dave's RV Park is located 2 miles east of Vanderhoof on Highway 16. If you are coming from Prince George, turnoff the highway at our sign just before Vanderhoof. We are 1/2 mile from the highway on Derksen road in a rural residential setting. Gleich hinter dem Campground fuhren wir über diese, aus dem Film Rambo bekannte Brücke. Unser Ziel waren die Othello Tunnels. Vier Tunnels, welche erstellt wurden, um auf einem sicheren Weg mit dem Zug über den Coquihalla Canyon zu gelangen. Auch diese Location diente als Filmkulisse für den Rambo Film. Sonntag, 31. August 2008. Port Hardy - Prince Rupert with BC Ferries 30.08.2008. Um 0345 Uhr klingelte der Wecker. Die Fähre legte um 07.30 Uhr ab und wir mussten zwei Stunden vor Abfahrt am Hafen sein. Frierend und sehr müde machten wir uns auf. Mit unserem Voucher und den Reisepässen standen wir in der Schlange. Der erste Reiseschock um 05.30 Uhr: BC Ferries. Konnte unsere Reservierung nicht finden. Donnerstag, 4. September 2008. Hazelton - Vanderhoof 03.09.2008. Über endlose Strassen und an Gletschern vorbei folgten wir dem Highway. Ach ja; solche Typen hängen ständig auf der Strasse herum:. Im Dörfchen Vanderhoof sind wir dann auf diesen super luxuriösen Campground gestossen. A really nice place to stay close to Vanderhoof. The Hosts Dave and Tina are very friendly. One of the cleanest and most comfortable campground on our journey. Thank you very much for the delicious Saskatoon Jam!

Donnerstag, 11. September 2008. Peachland - Osoyoos 10.09.2008. Ist das ein schönes Aufwachen an so einem Plätzchen! An Felsen, Baustellen(staub), Seen und Fruit Stands vorbei. Ein beschauliches Städtchen im Peachland. Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen, obwohl es wüstenheiss (ungewohnt für Kanada) war. Die Fahrt ging weiter. Und zwar zum Skaha Lake (Hundesee), im Herzen von Osoyoos. Mir ist es zu heiss! Ich nehme eine Abkühlung. Fast wie die da. Kurze Route von ca. 100 Kilometern. Labels: Peachland - Osoyoos.

Sonntag, 7. September 2008. Valemount - Clearwater 06.09.2008. Ins Wells Gray Country. Hier haben die Kühe sehr viel Platz, da würden unsere Kühe ziemlich neidisch werden. Doch die Milch schmeckt hier doch nicht so gut wie zu Hause ;). Auch die Vögel haben's nicht schlecht. Über den First, Second und Third Canyon. Umrundet vom Wells Gray Provincial Park liegt die TROPHY MOUNTAIN BUFFALO RANCH. Der Besitzer, Joe, ist in der Schweiz aufgewachsen und besitzt nun schon seit 18 Jahren diese Ranch.

Freitag, 29. August 2008. Alder Bay 28.08.2008. Nach dem wir uns vom Fisherboy Park getrennt hatten, machten wir uns früh morgens auf den Weg Richtung Alder Bay. Unser Weg führte meistens über nicht enden wollende Strassen. Aber teilweise hatten wir auch eine schöne Aussicht. Schneller als erwartet und auf Anhieb fanden wir den Campground in Alder Bay.
