Los Nogales: The last calf for 2008
http://losnogales.blogspot.com/2008/08/last-calf-for-2008.html
A family starting a West Texas pecan orchard. A place to show off our late life son. Thursday, August 21, 2008. The last calf for 2008. Old Red #1 had her calf at last. Davy named her Cunada after his aunt Didia who's birthday was the day before the calf was born. I've deep plowed the fields for wheat. Didn't get much hay this year, only about 10 bales so I will need the wheat to bale for hay next year. Posted by D.K.Schumacher @ 5:30 PM. Comments: Post a Comment.

http://losnogales.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html
A family starting a West Texas pecan orchard. A place to show off our late life son. Sunday, November 26, 2006. November is almost over. Here is Davy hard at work in the turnip patch. He is almost six (Nov.29) so it is time he started to earn his keep around here. We need rain again, nothing new there. I have to water the turnips to keep them growing. Davy and I eat a few and we feed them to the pig and the cows. Posted by D.K.Schumacher @ 6:54 PM 0 comments.

Los Nogales: March 2007
http://losnogales.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
A family starting a West Texas pecan orchard. A place to show off our late life son. Thursday, March 15, 2007. Still winter but you wouldn't know it here. Everything is budding and blooming on the farm. We had an inch and a half of rain over the weekend and the weather has been warm. It is much too early for this as there is a very good chance we will get an other cold snap and freeze everything off. There is always a chance of a freeze until the mesquite are in full leaf.

A family starting a West Texas pecan orchard. A place to show off our late life son. Friday, June 30, 2006. Well, yesterday was Lara's birthday, she has reached the advanced age of 34 years old. Next year she will be the same age I was when I moved to Texas. Hard to believe. I called her and she is doing okay. Taking care of her stepson Justin and waiting for Patrick to get in from flying. He was going to take her to a concert last evening. Posted by D.K.Schumacher @ 3:54 AM 0 comments. The pecan trees a...

It has been a wet year and the pecans grew a lot. The calves are all growing fast. I'm ready to kill a steer as soon as the weather cools off enough. We have two fat pigs ready to butcher too. All in all we have had a good year so far. Posted by D.K.Schumacher @ 6:08 AM 0 comments.

Davy has been in school for over a week now and likes it a lot. He even wanted to go to school on the weekend! He rides the bus to and fro now and likes that too. He was a bit worried about riding in the morning, but yesterday we put him on the bus at 7:00AM and he was just fine. Posted by D.K.Schumacher @ 4:42 AM 0 comments. Sunday, August 20, 2006.

Los Nogales: January 2008
http://losnogales.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
A family starting a West Texas pecan orchard. A place to show off our late life son. Thursday, January 10, 2008. Cleaned up around the grape plants and pruned them back. Started on the fruit trees but only had time to do two of them. I need to get them finished and get started on the pecan trees. I had a load of caliche delivered for the driveway. It was in pretty bad shape, full of holes from all the rain last year. Posted by D.K.Schumacher @ 5:38 AM 0 comments.
