http://davidandnicolealdridge.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Aldrige.nicole or david.dma4. Saturday, June 29, 2013. June has been an awesome month. We've been so busy out having fun that we haven't had time to write a blog post to let everyone know all about it. Here are some of the highlights from the past few weeks:. A fantastic week of vacation in Chicago, which included going to a Cubs game at Wrigley Field. A huge thank you to our friend, Diana, and her roommates for hosting us for the week! And I'm over at From Ballparks to BBQ. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Corkdork: March 2012
http://corkdorkcreations.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Musings, Reflections and Recipes from a would-be Kitchen Sorceress. Sunday, March 4, 2012. The Most Important Meal of the Day. So, we are all told how important breakfast is. It fuels your day, gets your metabolism going etc., etc. I am firm believer in having a great breakfast and have lamented the almost lack of original choices in Roanoke since moving here. I enjoy Star City. But you can only go there so many times. This past Sunday I found a new love, Wildflour. In Towers Shopping Center. I ordered t...

Corkdork: Oh for a Noodle Bar!
http://corkdorkcreations.blogspot.com/2012/04/oh-for-noodle-bar.html
Musings, Reflections and Recipes from a would-be Kitchen Sorceress. Tuesday, April 17, 2012. Oh for a Noodle Bar! For a foodie, a noodle bar is kind of like nirvana in a bowl.or many bowls. Sadly, our little berg of Roanoke does not have one, so of course when I visited New York, it was one of my must destinations. Momofuku. Even though we had sampled hedonistically of the menu, we decided dessert was a must since the reputation of Momofuku's Milk Bar. All told, the noodles were ridiculously good and mad...

Corkdork: September 2010
http://corkdorkcreations.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Musings, Reflections and Recipes from a would-be Kitchen Sorceress. Monday, September 27, 2010. We finished dinner and dessert was next. Let me just say I should have ordered the Sabayon because then I would have been assured it was not made in some Sysco factory. That is about all I have to say about that. We had checked Zagat's iphone app before we went and they had warned of neglectful service and mediocre food; they were right. I promise to trust you Zagat's tomorrow :). Russian Hill Pinot Noir.

Musings, Reflections and Recipes from a would-be Kitchen Sorceress. Friday, February 24, 2012. Not So Average Joe's. I started hearing about Blue Collar Joe's. A couple of years ago and though my interest was piqued, I had not had the occasion for a visit to this smorgasbord of gourmet doughnuts. That all changed with the new Uptown Joe's. Location in the Patrick Henry Hotel. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). More of Corkdork's books ». Not So Average Joes. Hot Time in Roanoke. Spinach sheet pan quiche.

Corkdork: New York Pizza on my mind...
http://corkdorkcreations.blogspot.com/2012/04/new-york-pizza-on-my-mind.html
Musings, Reflections and Recipes from a would-be Kitchen Sorceress. Sunday, April 15, 2012. New York Pizza on my mind. Spring Break: sugar sand beaches, marine blue water, mojitos muddled with fresh mint. All vibrant memories of Spring Breaks past. This year: bright lights, polar bears in Central Park, Matisse up-close, corned beef piled high on rye and Elphaba working her magic on the stage. The first night in NYC demanded true New York style pizza at a local fave: Lombardi's. My husband and I ordered a ...

Corkdork: November 2011
http://corkdorkcreations.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Musings, Reflections and Recipes from a would-be Kitchen Sorceress. Wednesday, November 30, 2011. Rick Bayless is Top Chef! My husband being the planning, diligent, god-like man that he is, tried to get us a reservation at Frontera Grill, but to no avail. They were booked way out so we decided to go and wait for a table- probably not a good idea unless you have 3 hours to spare tightly crammed into the tiny bar area. Next door to Frontera is Bayliss' less fancy sister XOCO. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Corkdork: Found: Fresh Beets!
http://corkdorkcreations.blogspot.com/2012/02/found-fresh-beets.html
Musings, Reflections and Recipes from a would-be Kitchen Sorceress. Saturday, February 18, 2012. So, in my last post I lamented the lack of fresh beets during a visit to Pomegranate, but I am happy to report I found them at Local Roots Cafe. The salad and mussels set high expectations for what was to come. Our next course consisted of succulent duck served with sunchoke, couscous, asian pear and szechuan pepper jus and a pork porterhouse served with shitake mushrooms, green cabbage and wood-fired potatoe...

Corkdork: Dessert for Breakfast???
http://corkdorkcreations.blogspot.com/2012/04/dessert-for-breakfast.html
Musings, Reflections and Recipes from a would-be Kitchen Sorceress. Monday, April 16, 2012. Before heading out to the Big Apple, I did a little research to make sure I hit some of the haunts I have seen showcased on Food Network. I am fan of the show "Best Thing I Ever Ate," and had seen Alex G. relishing some decadent french toast at famed Norma's at Le Parker Meridien. The dish was Chocolate Decadence French Toast, and it was calling my daughter's name for breakfast. While we enjoyed our french-pressed...
