http://jamesmartincharlton.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, 29 October 2011. There is some historical evidence (in Josephus. That Yeshua-bar-Yosef ended his life in Jerusalem, given they mention him being sentenced to death by the Roman governor based there, Pontius Pilate. A trip from Jerusalem to see these sites in Bethlehem today means a traveller encountering another, far from mythical and all too contemporary story, as Bethlehem lies behind the Separation Wall. And visitors must pass through the Gilo checkpoint. The Church of the Nativity. Itself i...

Friday, 1 October 2010. The Pope's Wedding and Olly's Prison, Cock Tavern Theatre. The Cock Tavern Theatre in Kilburn is currently producing a season. Of the plays of Edward Bond. One play representing each of the decades in which he has been writing since the 1960s. Sunday, 3 March 2013. Flemish Primitives Part 1, Hieronymus Bosch. I spent a week’s holiday in Belgium, which afforded me the opportunity to visit a number of important galleries and soak myself in the work of the so-called Flemish Primitives. The early Netherlandish painters who flourished between the 15. Thinking back, the work of perhaps the best known of these painters, Hieronymus Bosch. Triptych. Virtually the first painting I encountered in the Musées Royaux des Beaux-Arts. Also in Ghent, BoschR...

Wednesday, 27 November 2013. Bob Dylan at the Royal Albert Hall. I went to see Bob Dylan. At the Royal Albert Hall. The first of what was for him a three night stretch and his first time at the venue since the chaos tour of 1966. He seems to know this, as the first few songs establish the reminder of where you are - in his world - from the off. He's in the Albert Hall for the first time since he was being booed in the UK and he begins with "I used to care but things have changed. I love you pretty baby.

Saturday, 12 February 2011. Judith: A Parting From The Body. With respect to Field Marshal Paulus, who had done the "wrong" thing and surrendered to the Red Army at the close of the siege of Stalingrad, Adolf Hitler stated "What is life? Which is currently getting a welcome revival at the Cock Theatre. Posits that there is another force pulling at the individual, a force which may wrench them away from their allegiance to ideological forces and compel them to rebel; that force is desire. Tuesday, 14 December 2010. Further comments to the BBC re Jody McIntyre. I have responded to Kevin Bakhurst's editor's blog on the BBC. And my comment "awaits moderation." I publish it here just in case it never sees the light of day there. Here I post my original complaint. Or HRH The Prince of Wales in this manner is risible, simply risible. I am going to take my complaint to Ofcom, as it is clear to me that the BBC is not capable of listening with sensitivity to this complaint. Monday, 13 December 2010.
