One of my favourite shots. Taken with a Nikon D70 and Sigma 10-20mm, I took the RAW file and created 5 different Tiffs at different exposure points. Originally uploaded by David James Williams Photography. I felt some what inadequate with my 70-200mm lens, vs the huge telephoto lenses others photographers were using! But hey ho, sometimes having a wider view point allows you to capture shots like the Red Arrows doing the Champagne split. Straw Bale - Wide Angle.

These were the steps :-. 1 Convert Colour image to Mono using Channel Mixer at 100% Red with Monochrome ticked. 3 Adjust opacity of top layer to soften omni effect if required. 4 Add gradient layer from top downwards to add darkened sky. Use layer mask to use bring back detail in rotors and use as natural stop point for grad.
